The MCC Library is committed to supporting the College’s mission as a caring community of learning provided by convenient, effective access to high quality library resources, collections in a variety of formats and information services designed to meet the curriculum needs and the needs of the community. In keeping with this mission, the library seeks to:
1. Provide collections of library materials as well as emerging digital resources which foster creativity, critical thinking and diversity of thought, with an emphasis on supporting the MCC curriculum;
2. Provide anytime/anywhere access to library databases and information resources
3. Empower students and faculty in their ability to locate, evaluate and critically use print and electronic resources;
4. Collaborate with faculty to design information literacy instruction that supports critical thinking;
5. Support the faculty in learning and using appropriate instructional technologies;
6. Promote this library and other libraries as a source of inspiration for creative work, intellectual pursuits, recreation and independent lifelong learning;
7. Play an active role in supporting more effective organization and presentation of information for the diverse audiences of the College;
8. Actively participate in the intellectual life of the College.
