McCall's Tavern

Stopped here kind of by accident as we heard the country and western band playing. Restaurant was really busy. We were seated fairly quickly but took 15 minutes to get any service after we had to approach a staff member. Turns out s staff member had to leave and there was confusion on who was taking what tables. Once we were served we were quickly offered drinks and our food came out quickly. We ordered wings and chicken tenders. All were awesome...the best sauce was the Kickin Bourbon. Beer was cold. Band was awesome. Lots of people dancing. Great vibe. Would go again!

The food. Me and my girlfriend shared a plate of fried chicken that's supposed to be awesome and it was! So crispy and if you're Spanish you know chicharones which is what the skin was really delicious. On Tuesdays they have amazing music with a jam session so really talented musicians step in and play different songs. Such a great time!

Okay I have been going there for over two years off and on. I bowl in the alleys next to them every week in a league and order food through them. They were recently taken over bought out by new management. The reality of the place is inconsistency...you will have a five star experience or maybe a three star one or possibly less depending on time of day, day of week, and staffing issue. The kitchen was recently remodeled under new management. The cooks are still producing the same wonderful fried chicken they are noted for. The food is overall GOOD. The service is overall GOOD. I would recommend them. The entertainment is defenately a PLUS. Some turnover in staffing has caused issues but they are getting better.

Great service, never had to ask for a drink refill. Got the Thursday special which was a Gyro with fries. Best bargain for amount of food. Meat was substantially portioned on Gyro and I got a ridiculous amount of fries too for $9.99. Best lunch special in The Villages IMO.Food: 5/5

Love the small town atmosphere! Tuesday night jam session is a blast with excellent variety of seasoned musicians! The only reason we go! The African American Sax Player crushes it! Located 1 minute walk from SS Square.Food: 5/5

OK, this restaurant lured me in with a free birthday dinner resulting in a future customer. The chicken dinner was absolutely fantastic. My wife had a shepherd's pie which was very good. We both agreed the food tasted like homemade and it was probably the best meal we have had since moving here. There is a bowling alley attached which will try at a later date. So far took 15 minutes to just get menus at 430pm on Sunday. Service staff was not personable. We had to ask for menus three different times. It took 45 minutes for dinner to be served. The food was quality but unsure of what is considered Italian cucumber salad and very thin sliced cucumbers. It is just italian dressing and cucumbers? Lol. Otherwise food was high quality. Shelly would be the only reason we would come back.

We were there on a Friday evening and dined outside. Beverly was our waitress and we loved her! She was always smiling and very friendly. We ordered traditional wings and the Beef on Weck. The wings were excellent and the beef sandwich was probably the best we have had at a restaurant. The bun was different than any we have eaten and was delicious, and the beef was very moist. The menu is limited, but I prefer a limited menu done well to a large menu with mediocre food. There was a live band inside. Our bill was just under $50, but that included 2 drinks which were pricey. It would have been $30 without drinks. We highly recommend McCall's!

Great food, great service and great company. Entertainment was exceptional. The wait was extra long because the kitchen got backed up. They didn't seat people until they got things under control. That was the only disappointing part.
