HORRIBLE experience. Told us not to make an appointment and to just come in at 11 am for a walk-in and we'd be seen. If it wasn't for someone giving us their spot, the VERY rude lady at the front desk would've sent us out, even after I was told since I was coming from a long distance 1+ hour away they'd try to prioritize us. Waited from 11 am until 4pm to be seen, only to be told they couldn't help us until much later. Best believe I will NOT be making that drive to see any of these incompetent people again. I paid $200 only for them to do an X-ray and be like "lol yep, yer teeth all messed up." Umm, ya THINK?? Having to wait a week in excruciating pain only to be sent out with no help and $200 poorer? Please save yourself, don't come here. It's not a good option for low income individuals. It's basically a scam operation where they're rude and neglectful of everyone they're scamming.
After reading all of the not so positive reviews, I was nervous about my visit today for an oral consultation. I prayed and went for it! I'm glad I did! My experience was amazing! I was welcomed and clearly informed of each step from start to finish! I wish I could remember everyone's name that HELPED me today! THEY WERE ALL SO KIND! That's a rare find these days! Patients that needed additional help with paperwork, transport, or interpretation, had their own personal "ambassador " to assist! I'm impressed with my visit today! The facility was clean and comfortable. I was DONE in a short amount of time, to be a walk-in patient!
i wish i could give a better rating. i went in for an emergency tooth extraction this morning after being in pain with an exposed nerve for months. everyone was every nice and things were done very quickly. everything went well, up until i left. i waited all day for my pain meds to be called in, i called back multiple times and reminded them. they told me i would have them by tonight, here it is 9:30pm and i’m in pain with no relief. i can’t take ibuprofen and tylenol right now, and i made them very aware of that. i can’t believe that i was forgotten and left to sit in pain all night long, that is absolutely not okay. i will be calling as soon as they open.
My student doctor was GREAT! She had a lot of knowledge and made me comfortable. My low rating is due to the RECEPTIONIST & billing staff. I agree with a lot of reviews, they are unsympathetic with the patients. The receptionist was talking on the phone work call and not personal call while directing me through hand gesture on where the clinic was to meet my student doctor. The billing staff constantly eats chips & on their phones watching TikTok and social media while holding your license and your cards. They put chips in their mouth then hold your cards and give it back to you. ALL of this while wearing a Covid mask on their chin. Very ironic and bazar. After I checked in and took the parking code so I could get parking validation for my car. When I returned, the same receptionist with the loudest/aggressive voice asked me “who are you? Have you checked in” she caught everyone’s attention and alarmed everyone just by her loud voice. In summary; student doctors are GREAT! Mentors and senior dentist staff are GREAT!! Prices are the best thing here. Appointments take 4 times as long as an independent clinic so plan accordingly. Meharry medical college of dentistry need to really train the reception and billing staff because they are ruining the reputation and the hard work of the rest of the team.
I don't even know where to begin. I wanted to write a review for months, but I kept hoping things would be made right and I could just go with lesson learned. Since I'm writing this, that didn't happen. I was told in late 2020 I needed a hip replacement, before I could have that though, I needed to get lots of dental work done. I came to Meharry Dental school and decided to have my teeth extracted and get dentures. That process started the beginning of 2022. After several appointments, I had my teeth extracted in July of 2022. I was told i would have my dentures by October. That turned into November then December and so on. In March, I told them I wasn't going to return and wanted the money back for the dentures I paid for. I was told that my refund request went through and I would get a call in about a week, of course that didn't happen. 4 weeks later I called and was told they didn't have anything in my record about a request for a refund. It is now April 25th, and I still have no teeth. I was lied to by my student dentist about several things and also had my student dentist lie in the notes pertaining to my Impressions. I have lived in pain from needing the hip replacement so much longer than what I should have. I was told by one of the lady's in the billing dept that she was sorry and somehow I fell through the cracks and that should not happen when it comes to something so important!! I'm am devastated and hurt that I am left in this shape. This should not have happened. It is wrong on so many levels. -Tonya
This place is the stuff of Nightmares! I was visiting family in Nashville and began having wisdom tooth pain. This dental school was recommended for immediate pulling of my impacted wisdom tooth. The stories of surly, uncaring service here are accurate. No one answers the phones. I should have trusted my instincts and ran to a real dentist's office. Even the dental advisors are bad. My wisdom tooth extraction was horrible. It bled for days afterwards and got infected. I had to return to California to see a real qualified dentist to repair the damage done at Meharry dental. I wouldn't let a dog come here for dental work. Sadly, they do work in prisoners teeth here. This place is a Dateline NBC episode just waiting to be recorded. If you're thinking about coming here, run away now! I tried for weeks to contact the director of the school and although they're known by my family they refused to call any of us back. You'd be better off seeing a veterinarian than anyone here.
Brought my 11 year old son here for a broken tooth. They bonded it. Not even 2 weeks later and it's broke again, and he was literally not doing anything. $175 for 2 weeks of a tooth? Now they're closed for summer break, and can't even get an appt for almost 3 weeks.
my friend needed a tooth pulled immediately, i was a few minutes behind meeting her and they wouldn’t let me inside so i had to wait in the parking lot while she was in there terrified. then when she was done and obviously on a lot of pain medication they didn’t even walk her to the door to make sure she made it safe. i had to run around and find her.
I broke a tooth over the weekend. After calling several emergency dental clinics, I walked into the Meharry Dental clinic. I was treated with respect and treated kindly. The dentist was very professional and patient with me. I would recommend them to my friends and family.
Called a week before to make an appointment, they did not make one and instead told me to just do a walkin, showed up for the walk in, the lady at the front desk was extremely rude and talked to me like i was stupid, denied my walk in and i explained that they did not let me make an appointment and she told me I couldn't get any service done without an appointment. Will most definitely not come again.
