This, sad to say, will be my last review of the Bloomingdale Meijer's store. I called to inquire from the Customer Service Desk if the benches had been restored to the store floor. Her answer was in the negative. I then told her to pass on my goodbyes to the employees and administrators. I will no longer shop at this store. I haven't the strength to hoist the folding chair down from the wall in the furniture section when I am too fatigued and tired and need to sit down. The store's administrators do not care for the comfort and convenience of their senior/handicapped customers. Goodbye! I shop the Bloomingdale Store in Illinois almost exclusively. I enjoy the store's prices and conveniences almost exclusively. However!!!! I wonder what percentage of its clients are senior citizens? Countless times I have talked with personnel and managers begging them to return the benches. My daughter's Meijer's near her house in Johnsburg, Illinois has continued to have benches during the epidemic. For two weeks when I shopped at Meijer's in Bloomingdale, I would trudge to the middle of the store knowing that there would be benches upon which to rest my tired body. However, today, July 28th, I approached the middle of the store and with great dismay noticed that the benches were no longer there. An employee approached and I asked him where the benches were. He said that they were in back no longer in the store proper. WHY??? The employee said that he was sorry but he didn't know why the benches were no longer in the store. Last week when I rested my 84-year-old fatigued body two other senior citizens joined me on the other bench. Perhaps I will organize a senior citizens sit-in and invite Channel 7's Eye Witness News to observe the proceedings. I'm back in the trenches to bring back those benches!!! Jewels have benches; Tony's have benches. Other Meijer's also have benches. When Bloomingdale Meijer's saw fit to bring back the benches, I didn't gloat; I rejoiced. However, I do not know what harm and what trouble it caused Bloomingdale Meijer's to once again make them disappear. It is sad to think that the Administrators of the Bloomingdale Meijer's think so little of their senior/handicapped customers by withdrawing the benches that would give these customers comfort. Further shopping trips have not revealed the return of the benches. Perhaps I could help the employees to push the benches back into the store. At 84 years of age, I would still volunteer. I am recovering from a recent illness. I was thinking of going food shopping tomorrow. However, I would not have the strength to hoist the folding chair down to the ground in the furniture section. Before I go, I will call customer service to see if the benches were now in the center of the store. If they are not there, I will shop either at Tony's or Jewels. They both have benches. I don't understand why having the benches in the store is such an issue for the Meijer Bloomingdale Administration. Perhaps this will be a final farewell and they will lose a customer who has been shopping at Meijer's for many years. Does this mean anything to them?
Had to return some shoes and their associates were very helpful in assisting me to get the right size I needed. It was hard to find but they were very helpful. Great store, good prices. A lot of good deals
In the past I have had a great experience 5 star with the store but two of the last three visits had at least one can in a 24 pack that had exploded resulting in, beyond the damaged cans, the rest of the cans being sticky. Look forward to better experiences in the future
Went to Meijer tonight to buy some stuff the price didn't ring up right at the self checkout. I told the guy there was a sign up for .99 and he told me not my problem and that I am a liar I told him I was not lying and to take it off. Very poor customer service. Also the cheese said it was 3 for $6.00 I bought one package and it rang up $2.29 I wasn't about to complaine for 30 cents. I would never treat a customer that way.
I bought 10 gallons of engine oil, the advertised rate was $11.19 cents per gallon, my total order was $111.90, I drove 30 minutes to get my order and they gave us only 6 gallons, telling me that they only had 6 gallons, and charged me $140.00. Stay away! This location is a big scam, stay away from it A poor customer service
Great deals, but lady behind meat counter is very rude. I asked for help and she acted like I was being a pain to her. If u don't like your job , find another one.

This place has a lot of good choices. The biggest problem is they usually only have 2 lanes open and their cashiers are the slowest people I’ve ever seen. They absolutely do not care how long the lines are they do not move fast ever. I’m typing this while in li e! I don’t think I’m coming back.
This was our go-to grocery store for 9 years when we still lived in Hanover Park. We love that it is clean, organized and the staff are very friendly. Their produce and meats are always fresh and I got a lot of good deals shopping here. I know where everything is at and it's our son's favorite store. He loves the sushi and the rotisserie chicken. He always fall asleep in the cart when he was little because it has that homey feel. I get to do my shopping in peace for 2 hours. He and my husband also get their haircuts at Great Clips inside while I shop and every visit he rides Sandy. Oh the good times! He is 7 now and we just moved to Indiana and we also have Meijer here but it does not have that kind of feel. We still visit this Meijer branch every time we are in the neighborhood.
After hours of searching and driving to several stores including another Meijer around town in search of the perfect last minute cake for my girlfriend I began to feel defeated. However, I was determined and decided to give this Meijer in Bloomingdale Store #198 a shot and I'm so glad that I did. As soon as I went to the Bakery I was quickly greeted by Jessica and I explained to her that I needed a specific cake and needed it quickly. To my surprise she was able to design and create a fresh cake with the help of Edy who decorated the cake beautifully. Jessica and Edy were so accommodating and created an amazing cake for my girlfriend in less than 30 minutes. My girlfriend and her family were so impressed and I can't thank Jessica and Edy enough for their help. I highly recommend this Meijer store for all of your baking needs.
