Dr. Aya-ay is a board certified plastic surgeon in Tampa, Florida. She specializes in both cosmetic and reconstructive surgery.
Dr. Aya-ay was born in Charleston, West Virginia and grew up in the small town of Chelyan. At the young age of 10, she knew that one day she would become a physician. She graduated as valedictorian of her high school class and went on to complete her undergraduate training at West Virginia University receiving a Biology degree. Over the next twelve years, her childhood dream became a reality as she pursued her medical training. She graduated from the University of Louisville School of Medicine in 2003 and ventured to Tampa, Florida to begin her training in General Surgery at the University of South Florida. She completed a fellowship in Burn Surgery and continued to pursue her passion with 3 additional years of training Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. Dr. Aya-ay began in private practice in 2010 when she joined Dr. Lewis Berger at the Cosmetic and Reconstructive Surgery Center. She has recently moved her practice to the Lutz area of Tampa, Florida and is very excited about her new fresh solo practice.
Dr. Melanie Aya-ay has received her board certification by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. The scope of Dr. Aya-ay’s practice includes a full complement of both cosmetic and reconstructive Plastic Surgery. Her aesthetic practice includes an array of surgical and minimally invasive techniques. She is trained in laser therapy for skin resurfacing, permanent hair reduction, vascular lesions and tattoo removal. She personally administers Botox®, Restylane®, Juvederm®, Dysport®, and Belotero®. She performs cosmetic surgeries, including but not limited to breast augmentation, breast lift, breast reductions, tummy tucks, arm lifts, thigh lifts, liposuction, blepharoplasty, rhinoplasty, brow lifts, and facelifts. From a reconstructive standpoint, she specializes in breast and skin cancer reconstruction. She offers the complete spectrum of body contouring for the post-bariatric or massive weight loss patient. She holds memberships in the Tampa Bay Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons and Hillsborough County Medical Association and is an active member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons.
Dr. Aya-ay met and married her husband during medical school and they welcomed three children born during her surgical training. She enjoys exercise, traveling, and most of all spending time with her family. She is a member of St. Paul Catholic Church and is committed to current and future mission work in the Philippines. She also volunteers her services to the Judeo Christian Health Clinic in Tampa Bay.
