My daughter was born here over the weekend and every was so kind and respectful. It seems like they try to make the visit as personalized as possible and if that's the case, they FAR exceeded my expectations! I couldn't recommend this hospital enough! I'm do thankful for all the staff there from the desk workers all the way up to the doctors! Only hospital me and my family will go to from here on!
The absolute worst hospital experience I have ever had, constantly slow, behind schedule, flat out lying about the schedule. Incompetent nurses left and right… so bad I had to have an argument with a nurse after injecting me with dilated that was supposed to be morphine and she lied and lied about it till I informed her charge nurse then magically an hour later I get an apology admitting she gave me the wrong medication, admitting she didn’t have a clue what medication she was even giving… if you have to stay overnight bring your own person for care if you’re immobile because waits for a nurse or tech are consistently 45 minutes to over an hour and a half no matter how severe your pain or what your needs. I had an external fixiation surgery with plates and pins installed in my ankle and was continually ignored while in the worst pain I have ever felt in my 30 years on this earth. If you can avoid this place at all costs
If I could give a zero star I would. I cannot recommend this hospital to anyone especially in a trauma situation. The incompetence of one particular nurse admnistering the wrong medication, arguing with a patient while causing not only physical stress, but also emotional and mental stress and this led led to many poor decisions following her actions. The RN chose to not listen to her patient. She chose not to double check the chart and she chose to believe she was correct in her actions when she wasn't and medication allergies were present. She created another trauma in addition to the one my son originally presented to the ER with. I have never before witnessed such a power trip as hers in a medical environment until her. When this hospital hires this type of personnel it's a clear indication that the patient is not the priority.
Had a CT scan done on April 18th,2024. It is now June 3rd,2024 I called about the results of the scan and was told they haven't looked at them yet. They told me they are short staffed. If you can't get results in a timely manner then maybe rethink being a hospital. People's lives depend on timely healthcare! Edit: been trying to reach out to the number provided in the reply from memorial healthcare and absolutely nobody will answer or call back. At this point if I could give like negative 50 stars I would in a heartbeat. Edit 2: they streamlined my results and I finally received them on the 4th. The review has been updated to reflect this. I still can't give a 5 due to the amount of time but I think 3 stars from 1 is a generous increase! Thank you memorial!
I went to the ER for groin pain on a Sunday, was told they can't help and referred me to urology. I scheduled with urology for two weeks out on the next day. I then saw my primary with new and worsening symptoms on Tuesday or so, who ordered some more testing for the end of the week. Someone called me shortly before my scheduled tests to confirm what was happening, only for me to find out that the orders were wrong. So I either had to go back to the ER or wait for my primary to fix the orders the following week, all while my symptoms are worsening and I'm missing work. So I went back to the ER at the end of the same week. Told them about my new/ severe abdominal symptoms, they did blood work and some tests. They told me to see urology again and discharged me. I called urology again at the beginning of the following week. I explained to them the new symptoms and the multiple ER visits, and their response was 'Your issues aren't important enough to get you in sooner'. I scheduled another appointment with a different urologist in a different healthcare network immediately after that call, but kept the appointment with Memorial because the other provider was scheduling out later than them. At the end of that same week, I ended up having to go back to the ER due to a high fever and cycling between freezing cold to burning up all while sweating profusely. These were all new symptoms on top of the groin and abdominal issues. The ER did blood work that night and sent me home again thinking that I had some bug, and telling me to follow up with urology. My bloodwork came back that same weekend, and I saw Dr. Pacha early the following week. Dr. Pacha was dismissive of my concerns, did not acknowledge my other symptoms besides the groin pain, did not review any of the tests or bloodwork they did in the ER, rushed through his time in the room with me, and then told me to come back after two months of taking Motrin and Epsom salt baths. Before I left the office I asked them if they were absolutely certain if there was nothing else they could do for me and they said no. I was in the room for maybe ten to fifteen minutes total, where Dr. Pacha himself was generous enough to grant me maybe 5 minutes of his time while there. I looked at all my bloodwork and test results myself on that same day. My bloodwork showed obvious signs of infection and my scans showed two hernias that they failed to say anything to me about. I called the second urologist and was able to get in the day after seeing Dr. Pacha. This urologist took his time listening to my symptoms and then did his exam. Within 15 minutes of seeing this other urologist I was finally given a diagnosis and started treatment for an infection. One visit with a competent healthcare provider trumped several weeks and multiple ER/doctors visits at Memorial. Had I listened to Dr. Pacha's professional medical advice of salts and anti-inflammatories, I could have ended up septic or worse. I contacted Memorial's patient advocate with my concerns regarding my lack of results while being treated by their staff. They took several months to investigate themselves and found no wrong doing.
The place in Cheating where I went m to my Doctor's office was giving out my phone number to there patients for rides with out letting me know. Gave me a tordal shot in my left butt cheek and hit my siaatic nerve which was so painful and now my golfing days are all done. Patients advocate sucks won't return my phone messages. I'm signing papers with my Attorney for 1.25 million next Friday if Memorial don't get back with me. 2.9 Google rating really shows how bad Memorial is. News is doing a story with me when I sign the papers with my Attorney. Stay tuned Memorial your rating will be under 2 very soon. The other thing in October I was taken by ambulance to Memorial I was unconscious and the Doctor asked my wife if I took gummies and she said a couple and she walked away and never came back. If that the way you treat a patient who is unconscious WOW!!!
I had my son here on 2/19/2024 under Dr Frye. I can not recommend him and the labor Nurses enough. Dr Frye is a terrific doctor and his rapport with the nurses made me feel even better. The nurses I had Whitney, Julie, Mylissa and Cheryl during my stay are exactly the nurses you want. They were so compassionate and thorough. They truly made my stay a breeze. I never went without pain medication, they checked on us frequently, gave an abundance of education. I have never had a better healthcare encounter. Thank you Owosso Labor and Delivery Team. You guys are absolutely the best.
I had my son at Memorial in fall 2020. I had come in the weekend prior to my induction with some prodromal back labor. I was not yet 39 weeks so I was not able to stay, but the nurses didn't seem to be knowledgeable about back labor because it was never brought to my attention that that could be a reason for the painful contractions, I was told it could be kidney stones. Me being a first-time mom didn't help so I just went with it. I went home that day and came back the following week for induction. The back labor was back during the induction and my epidural didn't work on one side. I had a nurse that made me feel bad for being in pain, she made a few rude remarks while I was drugged up that were hurtful and unnecessary. I understand nurses have hard jobs, especially during Covid times, but I was a pretty respectful patient and was just having a hard time with the labor so it was disheartening. I ended up having a C-section. The day following my husband was told he should leave to get Covid tested after having some cold symptoms. There were no rapid tests at urgent cares and they wouldn't test him at the hospital so he had to wait to be tested until the next day, when he tested negative they would not let him come back in. Thank goodness my mom was allowed to come up. I was so upset, but didn't have the energy to argue with anyone to get him back to the L & D unit. I did have some positive experiences with some staff and a great lactation nurse. So it wasn't all horrible, but it was definitely a negative first birth experience that I grieved for a long time. I am giving an extra star because I have had some good experience with staff since I have been back after the birth.
Two years ago, I went in to have my thyroid checked because of…hypothyroid symptoms. The doctor literally, felt my throat, told me it felt fine, told me my chronic snoring was because my tongue was too big for my mouth. Apparently that’s what causes scalloped tongue. Today I was diagnosed with Hashimoto’s. It wasn’t in my head. I have been suffering, and I was shown no compassion from the doctor who saw me. It’s heartbreaking that this is what healthcare looks like for so many. Do not stop seeking answers. Good luck.
Memorial healthcare, I wouldn’t choose a better hospital to ever go to. The staff is all amazing from the nurses to the doctors, the front staff is friendly and they have been so good to me. I wouldn’t reccomend a better hospital. You know you will feel like a champion when you leave. I trust this hospital with my life, thank you for being so kind and helpful
