This is a nice hospital. Very clean even with all of the construction going on. For entertainment, there is a piano that plays itself. The cafeteria had a variety of reasonably priced food options. I had the pizza, which I was able to build. It was very fresh and the customer service was great.
I had my baby here 9/28 and let me tell you it was the worst experience I have ever had. Right after having her I felt very faint as I am anemic and the day shift nurses were helping me to the restroom where I almost passed out twice. The nurse proceeds to ask me “what’s wrong with you?” I said uhhhh I don’t know I just can’t stand up literally had my baby natural three hours before attempting to go to the restroom a couple days later I saw my doctor making her bedside rounds and I told her hey did they ever tell you I almost passed out and I needed iron pills or something to help she said nothing was ever communicated to her. To me this hospital is all about quota and making money and it shows in the lack of care and bedside manner they have with their patients. After having my baby no one checked my stomach but one time after that I had to squeeze my stomach and my mom wrapped me up to prevent me from clotting. The ONLY time I saw a nurse was when they wanted to give me pain pills other than that I sat in that room without any real help or support
Long story short, the hospitalist ER Dr. prescribed an antibiotic IV because my cat scan showed my appendix was inflamed but blood work was normal and I had zero pain. I had Covid the past week and that could be why my appendix looked suspicious. However, knowing my body the way most women do, I told the ER personnel I think I have a UTI. I was not treated for a UTI and my urinalysis showed high levels of RBCs which I did not know about until I received my discharged paperwork with my lab work results. I was treated for appendicitis which was not verified by my blood work, but was not treated for a UTI which was verified because of high levels of blood in my urine. I told the nurse about the high levels of blood in my urine and she said it was nothing to worry about. I was home for 1 day after being discharged and had to go to an urgent care because of the pain and nausea from a UTI. The Dr said I had a severe UTI and I have had the infection for a while and the ER should have treated me because of the blood in my urine. If a doctor misses a UTI diagnosis what else could have been missed. I will never put my life in the hands of this hospital ER again. An untreated UTI is dangerous and can cause death. I hate to pop the bubbles of the doctors, administrators at MH, but doctors can and do make mistakes and they should own up to them, and learn from them instead of making excuses and not taking any responsibility for their mistakes and listen and believe a woman, when she tells him/her that she has a UTI. I guess having common sense is not a criteria for hospitalists at MH. By the way, who suffered from the consequences of the Dr’s mistakes, I did. I’m sure the Dr will get a pass and who knows whether or not his mistake will have consequences; I seriously doubt it. The gaslighting, deflecting and projecting behavior of the administrators at MH does not have the effect you might want it to have. The truth, the facts and reality wins every time.
I came into the ER because I thought I was having a miscarriage. When the lady called me up to check me in, told me to sit down, but I refused, because there was a vomit bag on my left side and feces smeared on the seat on my right side. There was a lady sitting in the waiting room who had use the restroom all over herself. She was called back and no one came to clean up the mess. It was there for several hours. After a while I got moved to a pediatric waiting area where they were playing extremely violent movies with excessive amounts of profanity. The waiting area also had used vomit bags on the floor as well as miscellaneous trash. I was told I would know what was going on with my baby within an hour of my ultrasound. Three hours after my ultrasound I questioned what was going on and when I would know something and they very rudely told me you can’t expect to be out of an ER within an hour you need to sit down and wait. Even though I had already been there for six hours. They claim to have very good care for women and children, but that was not shown at all while I was there. It wasn’t until after I complained that a doctor almost immediately came up and called me into a room to me my results. I was told to sit in a chair that had blood, used syringes, and vials on the table attached to the seat so again, I refused to sit. The only reason I will be returning is because I have to deliver here other than that I would choose a different hospital. I really hope the labor and delivery section is completely different than the emergency room because it was extremely disappointing.
2-0 with hospitals lately. But this one takes the cake. My elderly mom was in Hermann Memorial The Woodlands Hospital for 4 days. ER nurses were great. Just a lot of waiting. The hospital nurses were great as well. However, there was a mix up with her prescriptions and I tried for a WEEK to get this fixed because my mom has been in pain. Was told by the nurse today that one medication was for in-house not what I was told hence the prescription I was supposed to get and it was too late to get the script for pain medicine because it’s been a week and they won’t approve it. Good thing my mom’s life wasn't dependent on these medications. She just has to deal with the pain until her regular doctor gets her in.
LIED about insurance approval to block a transfer. No doctor ever showed up in the month spent at this facility. Hospitalist demonstrated a complete lack of medical knowledge or basic professionalism especially towards women, and wanted to make final arrangements for a patient who only needed a minor procedure. He will regularly say "I wish I could explain it to you" when he has no clue what he is talking about, and is just trying to get rid of you.
Just had surgery here on 8/7 and this is by far the best hospital I’ve ever had care at. My surgery was so intense that I needed to stay in the ICU the first 4 days, my nurses were so wonderful! Emily Sitton, Emily Usher, Kadi Campbell, Hannah Morales, and Alexa I forgot her last name, sorry! thank you ladies so much! Not only were my nurses wonderful, the attention to cleanliness was a 10 out of 10. Housekeeping came once a day to make sure everything was spotless. Food was also good too! I have celiac disease so I was definitely stressed when it came to that but they took it super seriously and nothing I ate made me sick. I also got options when it came to my meals which was a nice suprise. If your insurance covers you at this hospital for anything- go here!
My Mom says "The Greatest Hospital In the World". When asked does she know where she is, she said "I'm in The Greatest Hospital In the World." This hospital is WONDERFUL for labor and delivery. On the other hand, they have one of the worst emergency rooms I have ever been to. Nurses and doctors are very rude and seem bothered by just about any patient who walks in there. It’s a very uncomfortable setting to be in. No matter how kind you are, they all just seem so miserable. I’ll be going to any other hospital from here on out. I want to add that unfortunately we’ve had to make a few emergency room visits here this year so I’m not just making this review off of one visit.
Rating it a one star for missing the diagnosis and for the long wait times. Not a patient but visited my girlfriend in the ER after she collapsed at work. While she was sitting in the nurses office, she got voimit on the blanket she was given. Took the nurse attending over 10 mins to ask if she wanted another blanket. My gf told them she had excruciating back pain prior, but received neither a diagnosis or even a check up for the area. They gave her 2 prescriptions, none of them for what she mentioned and we're back 2 days later at the hospital.
