This is a nice hospital. Very clean even with all of the construction going on. For entertainment, there is a piano that plays itself. The cafeteria had a variety of reasonably priced food options. I had the pizza, which I was able to build. It was very fresh and the customer service was great.
2-0 with hospitals lately. But this one takes the cake. My elderly mom was in Hermann Memorial The Woodlands Hospital for 4 days. ER nurses were great. Just a lot of waiting. The hospital nurses were great as well. However, there was a mix up with her prescriptions and I tried for a WEEK to get this fixed because my mom has been in pain. Was told by the nurse today that one medication was for in-house not what I was told hence the prescription I was supposed to get and it was too late to get the script for pain medicine because it’s been a week and they won’t approve it. Good thing my mom’s life wasn't dependent on these medications. She just has to deal with the pain until her regular doctor gets her in.
LIED about insurance approval to block a transfer. No doctor ever showed up in the month spent at this facility. Hospitalist demonstrated a complete lack of medical knowledge or basic professionalism especially towards women, and wanted to make final arrangements for a patient who only needed a minor procedure. He will regularly say "I wish I could explain it to you" when he has no clue what he is talking about, and is just trying to get rid of you.
I came into the ER because I thought I was having a miscarriage. When the lady called me up to check me in, told me to sit down, but I refused, because there was a vomit bag on my left side and feces smeared on the seat on my right side. There was a lady sitting in the waiting room who had use the restroom all over herself. She was called back and no one came to clean up the mess. It was there for several hours. After a while I got moved to a pediatric waiting area where they were playing extremely violent movies with excessive amounts of profanity. The waiting area also had used vomit bags on the floor as well as miscellaneous trash. I was told I would know what was going on with my baby within an hour of my ultrasound. Three hours after my ultrasound I questioned what was going on and when I would know something and they very rudely told me you can’t expect to be out of an ER within an hour you need to sit down and wait. Even though I had already been there for six hours. They claim to have very good care for women and children, but that was not shown at all while I was there. It wasn’t until after I complained that a doctor almost immediately came up and called me into a room to me my results. I was told to sit in a chair that had blood, used syringes, and vials on the table attached to the seat so again, I refused to sit. The only reason I will be returning is because I have to deliver here other than that I would choose a different hospital. I really hope the labor and delivery section is completely different than the emergency room because it was extremely disappointing.
My Mom says "The Greatest Hospital In the World". When asked does she know where she is, she said "I'm in The Greatest Hospital In the World." Very Peaceful staff of Doctors and Nurses working well Together and everyone is kind and Knows their Job. Clean Place. Our Mothers health is progressive and Steady. God Bless the Team and Staff of Caring Doctors and Nurses of Herman Memorial Hospital in Shenandoah, Texas in the Woodlands. Rating it a one star for missing the diagnosis and for the long wait times. Not a patient but visited my girlfriend in the ER after she collapsed at work. While she was sitting in the nurses office, she got voimit on the blanket she was given. Took the nurse attending over 10 mins to ask if she wanted another blanket. My gf told them she had excruciating back pain prior, but received neither a diagnosis or even a check up for the area. They gave her 2 prescriptions, none of them for what she mentioned and we're back 2 days later at the hospital.
Just had surgery here on 8/7 and this is by far the best hospital I’ve ever had care at. My surgery was so intense that I needed to stay in the ICU the first 4 days, my nurses were so wonderful! Emily Sitton, Emily Usher, Kadi Campbell, Hannah Morales, and Alexa I forgot her last name, sorry! thank you ladies so much! Not only were my nurses wonderful, the attention to cleanliness was a 10 out of 10. Housekeeping came once a day to make sure everything was spotless. Food was also good too! I have celiac disease so I was definitely stressed when it came to that but they took it super seriously and nothing I ate made me sick. I also got options when it came to my meals which was a nice suprise. If your insurance covers you at this hospital for anything- go here!
This hospital is WONDERFUL for labor and delivery. On the other hand, they have one of the worst emergency rooms I have ever been to. Nurses and doctors are very rude and seem bothered by just about any patient who walks in there. It’s a very uncomfortable setting to be in. No matter how kind you are, they all just seem so miserable. I’ll be going to any other hospital from here on out. I want to add that unfortunately we’ve had to make a few emergency room visits here this year so I’m not just making this review off of one visit.
I'm grateful and blessed to have received excellent medical care in April when I had triple bypass heart surgery, better known as "Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting". Memorial Hermann Hospital provides the best health care services in my opinion.
I've been here multiple times for prenatal appointments, my son was born here via emergency c section. Most recently I visited the emergency room which ended up in a multiple night stay and major surgery to remove a mass from my abdomen. The level of care I received has always been great. I always try to be kind to whoever is treating me, but even while in the worst pain of my life in the ER, they still treated me with respect.
