As a Renaissance School, the vision is for all Memphis Street Academy students to display strong character, to be prepared to continue their education, and to be able to inspire confidence as the next generation of productive citizens of Philadelphia.
The central goal of Memphis Street Academy is to immerse middle school students into a dynamic and success orientated learning experience everyday. This happens by infusing critical thinking, innovation, and creativity in every aspect of teaching and learning. The foundation for our work includes building, supporting and enhancing the development of confident readers. The school is pledged to develop every one of its students into young critical thinkers, problem solvers and proficient readers. This school is also designed to increase the number of students interested and eligible to apply to the School District of Philadelphia's highly competitive magnet high schools.
The school keeps its building open well beyond traditional school hours to enable our young learners and the community to take advantage of the many academic, recreational and cultural opportunities. The extended school day and year, and involving the community through rich and substantive partnerships support student achievement and personal growth. These partnerships will include families, cultural institutions, local and national businesses, industry, community organizations, and other groups and individuals committed to quality public education.

The mission of Memphis Street Academy Charter School is to enhance, support and promote the critical thinking and the problem solving skills of its school-age learners as they master and exceed Pennsylvania and national education standards.
