This is a Menasha Treasure. Don't let the name fool you...Menasha Grill offers authentic Louisiana cuisine. My husband likes his food hot, me, not so much. We both find amazing dinner selections. They have a Sunday Breakfast that is is by far our favorite.
A friend & I went to the Menasha Grill for their Tues evening Marti Gra special. It was a buffet loaded with Louisiana food. HOWEVER, everything was very cool. If they had been inspected, they would have been closed down for the evening. I had a Hurricane drink and it was good. But I wasted a lot of food because it was not even warm I like spice but not necessarily hot temeratures. I used to go to Menasha Grill quite often and always enjoyed it but they have changed. I would not recommend the Menasha Grill.
All of the previous reviews state that this place serves Authentic Cajun food. My husband is born and raised in Louisiana. I have experienced a lot of Cajun cooking as well as learned how to prepare it myself. I took him to the Menasha Grill for his Birthday to surprise him. It was a BIG dissapointment. I got the sample platter because I wanted to see how they did a number of dishes. The Red Beans and rice was a scoop of dried red beans over white rice. The Jambalaya was not Jambalaya at all. It was nasty. It almost seemed as if we got some leftovers from the previous night. I got the feeling they figured we wouldn't know what Jambalaya was so they could put anything in front of us and go Ohhhh Ahhhhhwe were there on a Sunday afternoon. It had canned mushrooms in it! It shouldn't have mushrooms in it at all! The sauce had the flavor os the sauce in spaghettos. The crawfish ettouffe had two tiny crawfish tails in the whole serving. So bad I wanted this place to be good. I am sorry to say it is not. I will give thumbs up to the Gumbo. The Gumbo did have a nice flavor. The service was so/so. The lady who waited on us brought us our food and drinks but she didn't do anything to make us feel welcome. She told us they were going to clean their floors. We had to wait a rather long time to get the check. We won't be going back. I guess it just means we have to go back to Louisiana. :-
Probably the best Cajun food I've had outside of New Orleans
