Excellent work and prices. I’ve taken probably 20 pairs of shoes in for various repairs ranging from zippers to heels and soles and polishing. I’ve been really pleased with everything—really fast work and quality has always exceeded my expectations.
My son needed his white leather shoes to be fired to black. They're dancing shoes so they had a lot of use. Took them in on Saturday done by Wednesday. They came back perfect, love the job. Very good service from a real polite guy. Love the shop feels old timey like you'd imagine a shoe repair in a movie.
Decent repair; quick turnaround brought them on Saturday, ready on Monday. Cost - very high that's why 4 instead of 5 stars. He fixed my worn-down heels very well and polished the shoes nicely but it was double what I have paid in the past at other shops. Inflation? Not sure. But just a little TOO high.
I'm not really a shoe person, but I have a favorite pair of shoes I've worn for 10 years and plan to keep wearing for many more. I asked Joe to do some minor stitching on both shoes, and asked him if he could make it factory perfect -- if not, I'd send them back to the manufacturer instead. He said it would be no problem. I got the shoes back and where the fine factory stitching ended, he'd used some thick twine-like thread, maybe 8x the diameter of the original thread, and poked big holes through the leather. The appearance was a jagged scar for 1-1.5 inches on both shoes. I had no idea what to say. I told him the work was terrible, and showed him the factory stitching, and reminded him of our earlier discussion. He told me, I kid you not, that to get that quality of stitching I'd need to send them to the factory. Now I'm stuck, as the leather appears to be ruined, and these shoes aren't made any more. I'll send them to the manufacturer in the hopes something can be done, but not holding out much hope. He must have understood how dissatisfied I was in the quality of work, but he just smiled and charged me the original price. This is the first time I've been upset enough about service to write a review. Please don't go to this place for anything beyond shoelaces, unless you're prepared to write off the entire item.
My $200 Finnish sandal ripped apart - the leather suddenly came completely away from the sole. I thought I would have to throw them away - after all, i've had them for three years and wore them all over Asia and Europe. But I took them to "Joe" and he sewed the leather back on for just $10! This is perhaps my 5th time to go there - he always gets my shoes fixed in a prompt and attractive manner.
Decent service and quick turnaround, but unless I misheard the owner English is his second language, he charged me $10 more than he originally said he was going to charge me $35 vs $25, which kind of irks me.
Very nice man. Repaired belt and flap In guitar case.
