My issue is with Sue the receptionist. She called me yesterday 7.18.23 to let me know they had to cancel my appt. since it was on labor day their mistake not mine. She said the earliest I could see my doctor would be February of next year. I asked to be put on the wait list she was very rude and unprofessional and said its a very long list! Again I understand the doctor is booked out. But she told me if i had a health issue they could get me in sooner, really then why could they not get me in since this appointment was their mistake. Again Sue was very rude. I hung up. I called back a while later , and asked to speak to the office manager to complain about Sue. Sue answered the phone and she would not let me speak to the manager , she very was again very rude and told me the doctor is booked out and there was nothing the manager could do for me. I was calling back to complain about Sue, and how rude and unprofessional she was, not about the doctor being booked..
I agree with everything that the previous and newest review complained about. I actually left a few months ago. After my medication was messed up several months during a time that I was under humongous stress of losing a home and trying to relocate among other things I was dealing with. I explained many times that this is not the time to be changing up my medication. But no one was listening to me!! I decided that was it I was done. As I was working my way towards leaving I asked for one months dosage. I specifically asked to keep the amount and dosage because the pharmacy actually encouraged me to request THAT but instead they gave me less and that messed me up real good! It's dangerous thing to do to a patient and I was mortified by it all. I called several times to get my medical records and kept getting phone tags, or no one was answering the phone. I had showed up in person to request my medical files. It was ridiculous that I even had to go that far. Now I have switched to a new doctor who finally "HEARD ME" I am happy. If you want to be "heard" look else where.
Hadn't been there in a long time, They were always good to me when I was going. They try to get you right in for an appointment, Which I really appreciate !! Since I have high expectations cuz I don't go to the doctor's often., thank God! Things are getting so much worse these days I recommend stay as healthy as you can. I used to see Dr. Day and I really liked her. Dr. Badillo came aboard after her retirement and he is awesome!! It's great because you have the convenience of labs and x- ray's in the same spot.
I absolutely love my care with this facility. My physician, Dr. Jodi Newcombe, gets 5 stars along with the nurses and office staff. They're all prompt, punctual, time sensitive, compassionate, polite, professional and endearing. I have been under the care of several other PCP facilities but none have come close to my care I receive here. Thank you to everyone at, Northern Light Mercy Yarmouth, for treating me with respect and helping me get better with promptness. I appreciate all of you greatly.
Do yourself a favor & find a place elsewhere..they have been hands down the most frustrating place I have dealt with for healthcare/Dr’s etc…other NL specialty offices I’ve been going to have been absolutely great..this location needs a complete overhaul..management etc....I can absolutely see why the good ones leave this office to work elsewhere..I’ve always found it strange that there rarely is ever a single patient in the waiting room yet they are too busy to answer the phones and/or return messages..I have had a couple of serious which would of led to more serious health issues/concerns that they were not addressing, just kept dismissing me/my symptoms saying it was my ‘age’ nearing that time of my life for ‘the change’ etc..I finally took it upon myself to find someone that actually listened to what I had been going through,my symptoms..affecting my quality of life etc..she HEARD me, ran some tests & sure enough found an issue…since treatment things have been so.much.better…you really need yo advocate for yourself and search & search until you find the right place/right dr’s etc that truly listen, care & know what they are doing! Rant over..just had my last straw moment with them and will be finding a place elsewhere
I'm a retired nurse, and when we moved to Maine 3 yrs ago, needed to find a new primary care physician. I have been very pleased with the care I have received, from the doctors, nurses, lab techs, and front desk. Lab results are given to me over the phone, and if comprehensive labs are done, the results have been mailed to me. Also, the facility has been clean and tidy, which gives a good first impression.
Due to "new staff" neglected to schedule my annual appointment, their solution was to schedule an appointment 7 months out, avoid this practice.
The administrative staff was extreme slow and incompetent at refilling my basic monthly prescriptions. When I confronted them about it, they were rude, condescending, and made excuses. I've never had a more frustrating experince anywhere. So glad my doctor moved on to another facility so I don't have to deal with them. My husband went in last week and received good service from the NP on duty. He also received a very pleasant and much improved attitude at check in. Improvement has been shown. I have added two stars.
I was a little surprised by the bad reviews and am glad I took the chance and switched my PCP to Dr. Piontek's office. She does family medicine, so my whole family now sees her. She's absolutely! She is really great with kids and adults alike. The medical assistants and office staff are really kind too. I've also been to Express Care and people's temperament can vary. One of the providers named Dawn is absolutely wonderful. She saw my daughter twice and she completely understood my anxiety as a parent. Totally non-judgmental, which was really nice. Even though some staff from Express Care seem frustrated at times, I'd still go there for care.
Dr Day should not be practicing! My Mother had a stroke last May, my sister and I knew that was what happened. Dr Day insisted it was her thyroid, so she changed her meds.My sister and I begged for her to get things going, like all the tests that “should have been ordered months ago! We have now changed her primary Dr but it took forever. Her ego is to big for her to be a Dr. she doesn’t care about the patient she just needs to be right. She’s all about having people come in so she can stroke her ego with big words and make bank. All though you can google your symptoms and save money if that’s the type of care your looking for. She never followed through on referrals that she was supposed to put in. We waited months to get a cat scan! She’s pretty much a glorified secretary! I’m actually legally looking into get her license taken!
