My son and I really enjoyed our visit to Meridian State Park. We stayed in a screen house with a view of the lake and had a gorgeous view of sunset. The hiking trails were lovely, lots of birds and wildflowers along the way. The rangers were extremely nice and the gift shop had a great assortment of souvenirs. The self serve kayak rentals are a great touch! Restrooms: Clean and well maintained. Two shower stalls. Picnic area: Picnic tables available outdoors by the lake or in the shelter building up the hill.
This is just such an amazing State Park! It’s so clean and you can tell they take pride in it. The camping cabin area is just amazing! It has easy access to water, easy access to showers and bathrooms too. It has this fireplace area with several benches . It also has this cute library cabinet there. The prices are so reasonable and such great scenery. Bathrooms are super clean too- which to me is a deal breaker. Very impressive. Many trails too
I'm feeling reluctant to say too much, because this place is a hidden gem, and I want to keep it secret! We were suprised that a park this small could feel so remote & packed with diverse, beautiful features. Beginning of Spring Break was definitely a great time to visit with not all sites full yet, but great weather & gorgeous wildflowers.
Biked to the park from Clifton TX on mostly gravel roads with a group. Campsites were neat and clean. Small walking trail was nice. Peaceful sleeping thanks to dark and quiet area. The water in the small lake was low, and the lake bottom was 6 inches of soft mud. Not many people swimming as a result.
This was a great experience all around. The kids loved it, and due to the screened in shelter, my wife was comfortable she's a city girl not used to country type activities. We will go back! Take time to hike the trail around the lake - absolutely beautiful! Restrooms: Clean restrooms and shower facilities.
Nice small park. We enjoyed hiking the trails. Just a note that they do not allow bikes in the trails. Restrooms: The restrooms are older but okay. Dog-friendliness: My dog was welcome here just the same as most state parks. Keep them out of the buildings, on a leash and pick up after them Picnic area: They have some nice picnic areas by the water and some more secluded ones
A fantastic place to relax, camp, and fish! The park is kept clean, including the showers and toilets. I will definitely recommend and return to this park!
This was our first visit to Meridian state park. It was very quaint and beautiful. The only thing that we didn't like was there was a pretty active hiking trail right next to our camping site so it didn't feel as private as other sites. Other than that, it was wonderful.
Very nice little park. Site 1 was surprisingly very level. Nice trails, nice lake, great staff.
The Juniper Ridge campground was pretty, quiet, and had clean bathrooms. Site #15 is a decent distance from the parking lot but has a nice view of the lake. The roads were calm and great for biking. We had a very recharging camping experience!
