I took my developmentally disabled sister to Michael's at Crossgates Commons, Colonie, NY today. She lives in a nursing home and I take her out once a week for lunch, shopping or whatever she chooses. She wanted to buy art supplies today because she makes pictures and artifacts to give to her siblings and great neices and nephews for special occasions. The cashier, Teauna, couldn't have been nicer in directing my sister to the appropriate aisles for her shopping. As we were checking out, Teauna, noticed that my sis purchased a buy one get two free items promotion that she failed to notice. So my sister went to get the "free" item she was entitled to. Teauna is a valuable member of your staff, and I want to give her credit for representing Michael's in the best possible way. She was engaged and patient with us--simply a delight. I've not singled out an employee this way in my 75 years on earth. So I want you to know how impressed I was with her service. Sincerely, Francis J Gluchowski

This store is amazing if you wanna get creative side of you. They have a lot of craft items
Stopped in to pick-up an item I had ordered online. After ordering the item was available for pick-up within 24 hours. Also, with going into Michael's I wandered the store and picked up some other items. This store always has what I need and more.
Not as big of a crystal selection as I'm used to with other Michael's in other states... and I noticed there wasnt a very big selection of fake flowers. But mostly i was there for drawing materials and new drawing paper and came across a 10pk of canvas for 10$ decent sized too! But the selection for pencils and pens and markers was very poor I still managed to grab a few items.. in fact I spent 140$ on just a drawing book a small journal a few pencils and erasers and a sharpener plus the 10$ 10pk of canvas. Pretty expensive for the lack of selection but what do you expect.
A family member of mine visited this store this afternoon and had an awful experience. While they were cashing out, one of the store employees Emily began yelling at her to make sure she put her basket away. The store employee Emily stated it very rudely 3 times in a row, before they were even finished cashing out. The employee was very rude, and very far from customer friendly. Then, when my family member friend to report the incident, she spoke with the “manager” Julie. While speaking with the “manager” Julie, my family member heard giggles in the background, and that same employee Emily whispering “I didn’t even do that”. The staff seem very unprofessional, which is not the first time I’ve heard this. I have directed this matter to both the regional district manager, as well as corporate. However, I wanted to forewarn anyone to steer clear of this store - as their staff are very rude!
Great, diverse, accommodating heck of I didn't already have a good job I'd work there if only to buy all the stuff lol. Great for diy people everywhere from beginner to advanced, great products and selections and the staff is super helpful. Go on in, that project won't start itself, that hobby won't pick itself up and that dream won't appear on canvas until you take that first step.. but the canvas and paint, the pom poms, the glitter, the popsicle sticks and whatever else it takes lol make it come true!
Customer service is always wonderful. However I was shopping for a frame and the selection was not typical of Michaels. I have to remember it wasn't to long after the holidays. Since I drove such a long ways I was determined to not go home empty handed.So I did purchase a frame. But I should have waited a few weeks. Generally they have some great frames.
I placed an online order from their website. When I arrived my items were ready and the pick up process went very smoothly. I was glad the items were in-stock just like the website said. I will visit this location again!
I had a very rewarding experience at Micheals at the Albany N.Y Washington Ave store .l called the store with a problem and the store associate contacted the Manager and they called me back within the 1 hr of my call and the problem was solved within hours! I have had many many shopping experiences over the years and the way this was handled was outstanding ,and left me feeling that they really appreciated me as a customer,l will continue to be a loyal customer and will recommend this store to my friends and family!
