We bought the campground timeshare and thought it would be a great idea for us and our seven grown children and their families. And the 1st year was great. Then the annual membership jumped by 200% and trying to pay that is liking pulling teeth, you can never get ahold of anyone to pay as they never call you back. The they have the audacity to cancel reservations when its them that isn't returning phone calls. I have been trying to pay my overpriced annual fee for 3 months now. I am not happy with this company at all, especially since they moved to Travel Resorts of America. BIG SCAM!!!!!!!!!!!
We thoroughly enjoyed our June 2020 vacation stay at Midwest Outdoor Resorts' Rushmore Shadows Resort & Campground just outside of Rapid City, SD. Even in the midst of a pandemic they made it an enjoyable experience. The entire resort was clean, well kept and the cabin rental we stayed in was awesome! We're so glad we're part of the Midwest Outdoor Resort family! We've already made our reservation to head back out to the Black Hills and Rushmore Shadows this summer!
We have just passed our 5 year membership anniversary. We were impressed with the rates for cabin rental, which is what pushed us over the edge to purchase a Lodge membership. Between the free week every year and the lodge and campground facilities, we have been very happy. Hidden Bluffs is the closest resort to us from southern Wisconsin. We have been multiple times. The staff is very helpful to us when we need them, and even when we just stop by to browse or say hi. Our kids ask every so often how soon we get to go back, which must mean that they look forward to it, as well! I can't wait for them to be able to enjoy their memberships when they get older. We have been able to bring family members with us and they also have greatly enjoyed their time! We have been to Rushmore Shadows once, and have desires to get to Ham Lake. As they say in their presentations, membership may not be for you. It is certainly right for our family.
We just stayed at Ham Lake Resort for the first time and had an absolute wonderful time! Dwight and Jeff get top favorite from me for helping guide me into our spot being the first time hauling a camper I didn't know how! but with their help and support and patience I did it!! There is so much to do at all the resorts and everyone is so kind!!
We have loved our time spent at all of the Midwest Outdoor Resorts! Our kids have such a great time and it is such an easy hassle-free way to get together with family and friends! We have spent time camping in our camper and have rented the cabins a few times!! We always look forward to our camping weekends!!
We had SO much fun Glamping and feeling like we were in the “Old West”. It was a wonderful break from technology and we had so much family time. We friended our neighbors in the other wagons and can’t wait to take the trip back. We enjoy more local to us get-a-ways at Hidden Bluffs and Ham Lake. I love that my teens like to make it a fun weekend cooking over the fire and just spending time as a family.
While my boys and I are avid campers, my husband isn't such a big fan. Midwest Outdoor Resorts membership wasn't right for us at this time but we loved our stay at Rushmore Shadows and had a great experience. Appreciated the precautions so people could still enjoy the outdoors safely!
My family has been members for over a year. Friends of mine were interested so we reserved two spots for this coming Memorial weekend. They would have to do the sales tour on Saturday, which they were fine with. My friends got a call today canceling their reservations because St. Croix River Resorts does not have anybody to give the tour. Ruined our weekend. No place to go now because it's too close to memorial weekend. Planned this for awhile. Not happy. They should still have their reservations reguadless.
"Share details of my experience..." -SCAM, SCAM, SCAM!- O.k. ill give it a shot. I went to a seminar for midwest resorts in a bloomington hotel in winter of 2020i believe. We signed up as new members because their pitch sounded like we'd be able to not only save a bit of money but get prefered rooms/accomodations at MANY campgrounds/resorts and even hotels a timeshares around both MN and the rest of the country. Weve checked on our travels to FL, WA, OR, MN, WI and feel embarrassed to mention "Midwest Outdoor Resorts" or their "Coast to Coast" adventures. NOONE has ever heard of them! Ive called over a dozen times to their member contact number in S.D. and reached someone ONCE, who forwarded my call to an answering service who NEVER RETURNED MY CALLS. Ive left emails- ALSO never answered. I stopped pmt of their $160-170/mo autodebit from my acct based on there being NO REPRESENTATION of any benefits for our membership! Theyapparently consider our membership as a LOAN! Lol. And now feel justified in ruining people's credit for stopping pmt.
Love being here. Home sweet Home. The staff are always warm and welcoming. A beautiful place to visit. Amazing.
