On Dec. 03 2023, after a day of shopping, I had a girls night dinner with my best friend here at Mikado. We both love sushi and agree that this is one of the good sushi restaurants in the area. The service was great and the ambiance was as well. I especially like that we were seated next to the fish tank. Me and my friend ordered several kinds of sushi and shared between us. I would definitely recommend. Parking: There’s ample parking in the back of the building. Although there was a pungent dumpster odor from somewhere nearby, it didn’t deter us from coming in and enjoying our sushi dinner.
I had to try out the restaurant where my ESL classmate, Sunny, works, so I took my family for lunch. We had a hot pot and teppanyaki special, and it was amazing! The food was scrumptious, and the service was warm and welcoming. We had a wonderful time and left feeling completely content. This restaurant is a must-visit for anyone who loves good food and good company. Highly recommended!
Delicious tom yum hot pot! Perfect dipping sauces to accompany and tasty tea. The server was cute and friendly, I liked talking with him.Food: 5/5
The filet and fried rice was delicious. Very good portions that represent the price. The chef wasn’t as entertaining as other hibachi restaurants I’ve been to but overall it was a nice evening out.Recommended dishesMiso Soup, YumYum Sauce, Steak Hibachi, Wonton Soup
More of a 3.5 - I think we just really like the nostalgia of eating hot pot and there isn't much around here. Food is sufficient. Service is pretty good. Not often a lot of people in the restaurant so I worry a bit about the ingredients that are sitting out. Love that it's open until 10:30pm That being said - we go once every other month and always enjoy the experience.
This was my first time going to hibachi, and I can say it was a success. The food was amazing, I got the steak and shrimp which was delicious! They also give you a really good portion, especially for the price. The service was also amazing. Every single worker was very kind, and the person doing the hibachi was hilarious, you are guaranteed to at least one laugh most likely more. It was so entertaining, with the guy doing lots of cool and mind blowing tricks, and while you are waiting for the chef, you can look at some of the fishes in the fish tank. The atmosphere was also really good. Lots of people need to go to this place. I would highly recommend going here.
I had an exceptional dining experience at Mikado, the hibachi restaurant! The food was absolutely delicious, and the customer service was top-notch. What really stood out was how accommodating the staff was, especially considering we had some younger kids with us who weren't always on their best behavior. Despite that, the Mikado team remained patient and made sure we had a wonderful time. We'll definitely be returning!
We had a great experience! Spent my daughter's 16th birthday here for a family party and it did not disappoint. We were a little apprehensive when we saw the parking lot empty, but the restaurant is newly renovated and under new management it has a hot pot section that we would like to try next. Our server was prompt and courteous and our hibachi chef, Loy, had mad skills with his utensils! A fun night with tasty food. I highly recommend this restaurant.
Possibly Japanese food but not great quality or atmosphere. When I have to ask and wait 10 minutes for chopsticks tells me it’s not authentic. Then they charge you $6 for a small pot of bland CHINESE tea. Japanese restaurants give FREE Japanese green tea. Obviously the owners have not eaten at a Japanese restaurant before. Since there was a long wait for the hibachi side, we chose to dine in restaurant side. The service was horrible since we saw our server several times because the food came out at different times. My wife was almost finished with her udon BEFORE I got PART of my dinner. The tempura shrimp was over cooked as well as the steak. The fried rice had a lot of hard kernels as if the rice sat outside overnight before it was cooked as fried rice! The place was so disorganized that I had to wait ten minutes for my sushi after it was made because the sushi chef didn’t know which table it was made for. We were sitting next to sushi bar so he could have given it to us if he knew it was for me. Sadly it’s the only Japanese restaurant near me. Next time I’ll drive further and hopefully have a better experience there.
I've never been to Mikado until last night, we drove past and saw a sign advertising hot pot and Korean BBQ. Normally we drive to Baltimore for hot pot, so we decided to stop in and try it. It was great! We did the salmon and hot and spicy hot pot combos, with a few additional items added on. We also had the Beef Bulgogi for the BBQ grill which was so flavorful and turned out great. We tried a sushi roll as well, which was delicious. The prices are a little high for an option that is not all you can eat, but the portions of food provided were large and we could barely finish eating it all. The service was incredible - our drinks were always full, our server came by multiple times to make sure we had everything we needed, and he even replaced some items we accidentally dropped off the table. I really hope they keep the section for BBQ and hot pot, because now we have a great option to get it locally!
