Lovely building, clean, updated. The line for visiting is a bit long if you have an appointment you go thru after a quick security check. Be sure to have your vax card or proof of negative COVID test and ID, ready--it makes everything quicker for everyone.
I know the hospital has good Doctors that’s what gets five stars. Unfortunately the bathrooms on the 2nd floor really were not clean. I think more attention to such a frequently used restroom should be addressed.
As a Family, we are basing our review on lack of disclosure and advice that we didn’t get in order to make the right decision for our loved one. Our loved one was mostly in 7 Garden South and 7 Garden North plus the ER from 12/01-12/04/2022. Then admitted till 12/09/2022 and treated for Pseudo Obstruction They kept giving her laxatives which caused her stomach to permanently inflate and permanently balloon. She only weighed 83 pounds. Then from 12/13/2022 till 12/15/2022 back in the ER then admitted till 12/22/2022. Poor advice to discharge on 12/09/2022 - Kyle David Kylas signed off on paperwork to Isabella Nursing Home for physical therapy that never happened. Only one evaluation. Then back to the ER on 12/13/2022 due to Aspiration Pneumonia Dysphagia. The nursing home claiming that she also had Covid19, but family members present never witnessing swabs being used for testing. Hospital would not retest her. None of us got Covid19 the entire time being with her day and night. Nor after final discharge. Explain! We were not comfortable with Male Nurses cleaning our Female loved one. Her cardiologist, Dr. Gregg Rosner, stopped her Hypertension meds as well as her medication for her Mitre valve leak for 3 weeks between and before admission. Jennifer his physician assistant always took my call and she came once to the ER. Her Primary Care Physician, Dr. Asqual Getaneh - not once visited her or checked on her. We still have all of the pictures we took of her daily monitor readings which showed blood pressure being elevated and high during her entire stay. Some were administered when her BP was very high. He supposedly visited early morning, but we never saw him. Morgan Smith was one of the attendee physicians that was pushing procedures and possible surgery for an 89 year old! NOT! Robie was the only great Nurse we had! The hospital has collected $149,798.10 from the medical insurance and they are still trying to collect $3,600 from the patient’s widower for such poor care. She was discharged on 12/22/2022. She passed on Christmas Day - 12/25/2022.
If you need to have surgery and want the finest medical care, you will want to come to the Milstein Hospital at Columbia Presbyterian Hospital. One of my relatives recently had surgery and spent a few days as a patient. She had a gorgeous view overlooking the Hudson River and the George Washington Bridge. Her surgeon was considered one of the best in his field and the nursing care was excellent!
One of the good NYP hospitals. The place is always clean and staff are friendly. Lots of high tech stuff in the hospital. Very good place to go with u need a procedure. Also an added bonus, statbucks!. Today i bought the star fruit kiwi tea with coconut milk. Also with an added bonus of bantam bagels.
Big thank you to Raya the PA on the cardiac recovery floor. She was professional, compassionate, willing to listen and did an excellent job with my mom. Dr. Brogno did her cardiac catheterization surgery and he was wonderful to work with.
I've had a couple of surgery procedures here. The Nurses are great and the Doctors are the best of the best. Hospital is part of New York Presbyterian which has been rated as the #1 hospital in New York state for 22 years in a row. I've seen patients come here from other states and countries
My fiance came for a liver transplant. His phone charger was stolen when he transfered from 4th floor ICU medical to 6th floor. Then I replaced it when he got to 4th floor surgical and it got stolen AGAIN!!!! WATCH YOUR BELONGINGS CLOSELY!!!!!
My very good friend was hospitalized in the Garden Wing of the Milstein Building for a week, where I visited him almost daily. From everything I saw and in his opinion as well, he received excellent care and attention in a highly comfortable and professional environment with ample meals and knowledgeable medical staff. Special shout out and much appreciation to Arthur on the 7th floor—an awesome staff member who really went above and beyond to be kind, helpful and accommodating~ Thanks from Kelly and Vaughn!
It is better to stay at the ER, they bring a person with a heart condition here and let him alone for like 5 hours and no one came.
