Staff was extremely unprofessional literally on the phone the entire time I was trying to place my order. They barely speak English just french. They don't have what's advertised on the menu, the don't have an ac system just a fan that blows dust and circulates hot air. Make sure you have cash because they don't accept any other form of payment. There are better places and cleaner to get African food, skip this if you can
The fufu did not taste good. It was a darker yellow orange color. We tried the okra soup and the peanut soup but I dont believe she gave us the peanut soup and gave us something with tripe or feet. There was no egosi so I didn't get to try the chicken. Looking for a new place !
I normally don't write reviews however I could not let this go pass. We have been getting food before the new owners took over. The food and service has been declining since. I actually believe this may be the 2nd owner since it was Mimi because the food taste continues to decline. My husband and I made a decision not to go back EVER. It took 2.5+hours to get our food which was pre ordered. My husband arrive a hour after we order to find that he had to wait another 45 minutes and then found out that the order was incomplete and would need to wait another 45. Really, between hard rice, tough lamb and goat, over cooked spinach and small plates it not worth. We will be looking for another spot. If anyone knows of a good English speaking local African resturant near Newark, please let us know. Thanks
The best African American restaurant ever in Newark. The food is so delicious. You should to taste it and you will the difference with the food from others restaurant in this type. Great good.. best and the freshest African good in nj.. there food is always good.. i mean always good.. love the rice and debe, the fufu and okra.. This is the restaurant to go when you do not want to be robbed paying NYC tolls. Good food. No change. Only accepts cash. Call ahead to insure that some foods are there. A true African restaurant! !
The lady that works there is extremely nasty, she's not welcoming to her customers and acts as tho she's being forced to work there. Not sure if she's the owner or not either way, she's not a pleasant or friendly person at all.

Are they even serious about doing business? I’ll call them Over and over during the day and they rarely pick up. They’re overpriced and poor service all the time. Just close up shop so I don’t bother calling a dead number that rarely gets answered.
Food is fresh and outstanding! Food is ready once you come to see the cashier. Customer service is great and fast.
Second time I ordered there and they sold it to someone else. How can you build a good relationship with customers when you do such things?weder we can order over da phone or not at all ,this is nonsense.i am done with them worst restaurant ever seen.smh
