The Boston Medical Library BML is a physicians' non-profit organization. In 1960, the BML and the HMS Library entered into an agreement to combine their collections and administration. This agreement lead to the creation of The Francis A. Countway Library of Medicine.
Some libraries are born to greatness, some libraries aspire to greatness. This library is just great. It has a lot of medical books if that is what you're into. It also has a museum full of medical oddities, which are medical and odd. The staff are helpful and nice. Sometimes I come here when I'm bored and just chat them up. You need a HMS ID to get in or you can get a visitors pass if you're affiliated with some of the hospitals you can also pay for a day pass I think. If you need medical literature, this is the place.
I go to HSPH so this is my go to study house. The resources are enormous. They even have a movie borrowing section. And there is so much you can get from Hollis. You'll appreciate the access once you lose rights to the online portal for a while
With the new renovations, an excellent place to study, grab a snack, get some work done
The world's best medical library. If you have access, it is worth the visit. It has everything!
