I loved the free event today, giving all the community a chance to explore the exhibits. This piece was my favorite, i love the eyes, the quote from the artist "I LOVE ART" and the swirling faces under the clock. There's so much to see in this one piece but the museum offers so much more.
I went with my partner during Pride weekend and the admission fee was free. If you're thorough and read through almost every piece, you can spend up to 4 hours here! The museum seemingly changes their exhibitions so keep a look out if there's something you really want to see. The establishment also has a little shop downstairs where you can purchase goodies.
Lovely museum, hope to get to walk in the park next time, we were there to escape the summer heat. Beautiful collection and friendly staff, it’s on the smaller side but we enjoyed our visit there, our family loves this one more than the uptown location.Visited onWeekendWait timeNo wait
Really enjoyable exhibit space with a good selection of interesting items. Buying a ticket at this location also granted me freeish access to the Uptown branch that day and the following day. This location has a significant number of glass art items that were really nice and would have been just as at home in The Corning Museum of Glass.
There were a lot of porcelain collections from all over the world. The collections were diverse and inspiring. They also offer free admission to military service personnel and their family.Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNoPrice for adult entry$11–15
This is a pretty good museum and definitely worth the visit if you’re in Charlotte! The layout is a bit awful, and it is on the smaller side compared to some art museums I’ve been to, but it was a great stop on my list! You will spend an hour or so here Admission prices are fair, but it can be pricy with a large group of people. Definitely check out their free nights great date night and ask if they have discounts. I’m military affiliated, and showed my ID, and got in free! Overall, it’s a good museum and worth visiting. Be prepared to look at a lot of pottery!
Sadly this is not a museum to bring kids too. There are just too many inappropriate items that I don’t want my children staring at. I do enjoy their temporary exhibits that they change out. I enjoyed the fashion one they had before the most. I also like the fine China room wit all the pretty tea pots and plates. But, otherwise there is just not a lot of art that is worth seeing. If going, I definitely recommend the free nights they have every Wednesday after 5pm.
Our first visit. The ladies up at the front are very helpful and sweet natured. The museum shop is packed with neat gifts that support the art. We really enjoyed this museum! Exquisite art and a very neat area for local Charlotte artists to exhibit their work. There was a lovely wedding being set up and we got to witness a groom have his photos taken. This place is definitely a must see!
The Mint Museum on Randolph Street is lovely. It has a lot of history and culture from all over the world. The staff is very professional and inviting. The grounds are beautiful. If you're looking for quiet inspiration this really fits the bill.Visited onWeekendWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNoPrice for adult entry$11–15
