My name is Karen Ragsdale and I'm a girl on a mission to get America healthy! I have personally lost over 160lbs and am reaping the rewards of a healthy life every single day.
I achieved my success by working with a free health coach who helped me establish a healthy eating plan and provided support as I learned to create healthy habits in my life. I started my journey to health on January 30, 2012. I weighed over 330lbs. I'd tried everything and had failed in the past. I'd been overweight since childhood. I was starting to think that a gastric surgery might be the only way I could reach a healthy weight - but I really didn't want to go that route if I didn't absolutely have to. I was nervous about changing my lifestyle. I was nervous I couldn't change myself. But I started anyway and it turned out to be the best decision of my life!
About 9 months later, when I had lost 100lbs, people were stopping me left and right to ask, "How did you do it and can I do it, too?!?" I knew it was time to pass this amazing program forward and assist others to become the healthy people they desired to be--but thought they couldn't achieve.
I became a Certified Health Coach in October 2012 and it's completely changed my life! Talk about a 180! At the beginning of the 2012 I was morbidly obese. At the end of 2012 I was helping others discover that they could escape obesity, too!
So that brings us to today. Every day I wake up with one goal in mind: "How can I assist others to health today?" That could mean providing direct assistance to a someone who is already on their journey to health, exploring with someone who is searching for their healthy life, or helping a new coach on my team establish themselves as a resource for health to their friends and family. Whatever it may be, I can't help but do it with what now abounds in my life: Joy, Passion, and Commitment.
