Nice facility a little off the highway. There was a playground located in the back. It was nice walking there to stretch your legs and view the Mississippi in the process.

A nice little rest stop, though seems weird driving to get to it. Gorgeous look out point. The lobby was locked when we came today, only the restroom part was open. The gate/fence on the road to it is weird. The view is worth the stop!!!
Very clean, well kept rest area. Has a full playground just past the main building in the overlook area, a slide, swings etc, probably can handle 10 kids. Beautiful view up river.

Nice view of the Mississippi from parts of this park/rest stop. Two distinct areas available after quite a meandering drive. The first rest stop is at least a quarter mile drive once you leave the freeway and pass through a 16 foot tall chain link gate. Bathrooms were open as of May 2021, but it looks like the rest of the state is closed until further notice. May 2021
Mississippi Rapids Rest Area was the perfect place to stop for a picnic lunch while on our road trip to Texas. The facility was clean and had wonderful picnic areas overlooking the mighty Mississippi River. I would highly recommend stopping along your journey or even just to picnic in a fantastic location. #straycompasstravels #straycompassphotography
Most beautiful view and building I have ever seen for a rest area.
A surprisingly clean rest stop and a great view of the Mississippi river. There are a few geocaches and a playground. There is also a great over look at the restrooms and along the road to the restroom. There is not as much parking but not as many people stop at this one.
