Black Alumni Weekend was founded by alumni who wanted to see Black reunions return to MSU. In 2016 and 2018, the weekends were planned by independent committees with the technical and organizational assistance from the MSU Alumni Association.
It has been a desire of many to have the official black alumni reunion return to MSU. In this 50th year of Dr. Richard Holmes's integration of the campus, an ad hoc committee in conjunction with the MSU National Alumni Alumni Association would like to announce that the official 2016 Mississippi State University Black Alumni Weekend will be held from March 3rd to 6th.
