For reals this sushi is delicious. Everyone with bad reviews are takeout which NEVER get sushi take out duh, or they ordered Non sushi items. This place has good sushi if you actually order the sushi. Grab a bunch of the special rolls and some fresh sashimi. Skip the thai food, skip the regular appetizers. Just order fish! Frankie the manager is such a sweetheart and so humble. This restaurant knows it's good and everyone is super nice. The atmosphere is really nice. We got the crispy wasabi cracker, the out of control roll, the Nico special roll and a salmon crunchy roll. We also got the Indian pancake app. Everything was unbelievable and delicious! I cannot wait to come back! The fish was fresh and the combos were very good. My only qualm would be maybe not SOOOO much sauce on everything, it hinders the flavor of the fish.
Food was so delicious I can't believe I pass this place all the time and never tried it. Honestly the atmosphere is beautiful to the eye. The service is on point and always smiling. The food is fresh and delicious came with my dad. It's a must try. Plenty of parking restrooms are clean guys honestly give it a try. It's a hidden gem. Kid-friendliness: High chairs booster
Nice little spot in Melville across from the college. It has nice decor and good service and great food. Very reasonable lunch specials with generous portions. I tried the chicken teriyaki bento box which had a ton of food plus soup and salad not pictured. The Thai iced tea was very good as well. Definitely recommend.Food: 5/5
I adore this place!! It was my birthday and we had reservations somewhere that got cancelled last minute. My friend found this place, so we went on a whim since they were able to seat our party of 13. The atmosphere was kind of quirky and earthy, which I absolutely love. Let me tell you, IT WAS AMAZING! The food was really delicious - all guests were commenting on how great their food was. They've definitely gained many new repeat customers. Even a couple of my food snobby friends said they will come back lol. The tuna I got was, no joke, the best tuna I've had in years. It was so utterly fresh and delicious. They were very conscientious of allergies and dietary restrictions. When it came time for cake, they cut it up for us too even though it was a cake we brought in from Carvel. And they were just so nice the entire time. I can not recommend this place more! Vegetarian options: Plenty of veggie options Dietary restrictions: Very accommodating
Mizu’s always a treat. Friendly, attentive staff that’s always willing to answer questions and offer recommendations. Never a long wait for food. Nice vibe. Great sushi options.
After a long day at adventure land amusement park we decided to go get some hibachi and sushi; which we love very much. Very happy with customer service and cleanliness the restaurant has been able to keep. Sushi bar and the view inside is super nice and decorated stunningly. The waitress really did her thing with the kids and very friendly and we love that very much. She saw my wife seemed cold and asked if she wanted them to up the temp for her “that was a first ever” that a restaurant was willing to accommodate to such extreme! Food was amazing and drinks were very good. We did three entrees which were steak, chicken, lobster with white rice, fried rice and some noodles. Had some sushi and it was very flavorful. 5 min from adventure land and highly recommend, we called an hour before going for reservation for 7 of us and were accommodated right away when calling and getting there. Thank you very much.
5/5: Fresh, delicious sushi with some nice décor Decided to eat here with my mom for my birthday. Walking in, you notice right away that the restaurant, although a bit small, is well designed. It’s clean, there are booths and tables, and the lights are nice. Coolest part, you can see the chefs preparing the sushi! For food, I got 3 rolls: the Angry Dragon Roll, 1 Spicy Tuna, 1 Salmon Skin Roll. All 3 were fresh and absolutely delicious. I prefer less vinegar taste in my sushi rice and so this was perfect for me. The Angry Dragon was top-notch; I highly recommend! Prices are on the higher side, but that’s fair because of the resulting quality. Sushi isn’t something that you should cheap out on, so don’t feel bad about paying these prices. I will say, though, that the desserts were a bit overpriced. The vanilla ice cream that my mom ordered was simple ice cream, and yet it was around $5. But it was delicious, and so was the Oreo Tempura that I ordered for $7: definitely a unique item too! Overall though, we paid $80 for drinks, meals, and 2 desserts for 2 people so I’m satisfied. The best part was when my mom told the waitress in private that it’s my birthday, and the staff gave me a candle and complimentary mochi when they were bringing out the Oreo Tempura! It was a nice gesture, and a clear sign that the restaurant is willing to go the extra mile to ensure a great time for customers. Overall, if you’re looking for a place to enjoy some authentic sushi, you likely can’t go wrong with Mizu!
This place is AMAZING. My family and I were staying in Long Island at a hotel about 7 min away from Mizu, and we went onbthe first day we arrived. We returned for lunch the next day, and booked for dinner on our last full day. Their hot green tea is a great way to keep your stomach comfortable, and their Thai tea big glass cup picture was delicious, although it does water down so you might want to ask for less ice if you don't drink your drinks very quickly. We ordered the sushi platter, which came with a roll and nigiri. We also ordered the sashimi special salad, great for health conscious people trying to get more veggies. Their broccoli is pretty plain, but a solid veggie, but their sautéed Bok Choi is a huuuuge winner! It's worth getting each time you go. The sashimi platter is delicious and comes with rice, although you can opt out. Their miso soup comes with all the sushi platters, and is really good. We also got their ramen soup, it has a really tasty vegetarian option, and their stir fried seafood udon, which was wonderful there were no leftovers. If you book ahead, as we did for Friday night, you can actually order oysters so worth it and lobster never had it sashimi style before, and the accompanying dip was very refreshing. All in all, highly recommend the food and the company. The waitresses were lovely and helpful, and the chef/owner was very personable and came to speak with us twice. Go if you love sushi and are in the area! Dietary restrictions: We were able to order a vegetarian version of the the ramen!
This is a small restaurant along a busy street but don't let that stop you. The Mizu is comfortable and cozy with wonderful service. The sushi served is creative and top notch. Don't forget to order sake with your meal for a perfect combination of great flavors. Features: The staff all wear face coverings.
My last visit here was for a birthday dinner with the family. The food was very good, and I had a similar experience with take-out about a year ago. Still, there are a couple of things I would like for the owners to pay attention to. First, there are some very odd decor choices, Christmas lights and balls in June, the entrance just doesn't look nice, it looks rundown. Second, if the credit card services are not working, it's best to let guests know before serving food.
