I needed a place to fix our existing manual bifold ramps. I dropped two vans off in February 2022, and they still have them as of 07/24/2022. I have a third one that will not be going here. I was told that the company that their getting parts from is not sending out the parts, I was told this since March. I have emails from the company stating mobility has them. When I was there the same comment came up and another tech walked over and said, "the parts are on your desk". I deal with the parts company 3x a week and nobody from East to West coast has any issues. I have recommended MW to many people. I provide tech support across the country for our organization. They are all getting their ramps fixed quickly and getting parts quickly from the same parts company I told MW to use. In short I am getting played! The gentleman even apologized and admitted ignoring me. He wouldn't even come out to talk to us the first time went there to investigate what's going on. He put the blame on the parts company, I have an email I sent them stating why is it taking all this time to send parts. They immediately gave the dates the parts were ordered, shipped and arrived. Definitely not what I am getting told from MW. I met the tech that did some of the welding work, EXCELLENT! It is sad he is represented this way. I need to make it a point to show I appreciate the workmanship this tech did. I don't appreciate being played by the service advisor. I will give him acknowledgement that atleast he is being stand up and saying he dropped the ball. Ya think?! I don't want to provide his name but it is mentioned is some other negative reviews so MW will take the hit in this negative review. Pricing was a bit shady as well. Please be aware when doing business with this particular Mobility Works. We provide disaster relief and they have let us down! I have been catching heat from my company and I am so embarrassed. We are in disaster season until November, hopefully Mobility works will have my vans ready for 2023 disaster season. . Again please be aware when doing business with this particular location.
Spoke on the phone with Greg to fix a misaligned gear, tried convincing me into a 600 dollar motor. Said I wasn’t interested, proceeded to say he’s just change it to manual. Called multiple times for an update and they call me back 15 minutes before closing to grab the vehicle after calling for two hours for an update. Go somewhere else, they’ll prejudge you off your skin and assume they can take advantage of you. The vibes are definitely off at this location and safe to say I’ll never do business or work with MobilityWorks.
I thought this place was pretty good until my family was billed way more than they were told. It's completely unfair. Not a place I would recommend unfortunately. Long story short we were taken advantage of. I truly wish I could say the experience was a great one. Most definitely will be looking elsewhere in the future.
The team at Mobility Works Albany has taken excellent care of my family. They are kind and reliable! They always try to do right by their customers and care about the journey each family is on. We worked with Lee in Sales and Tony in Service and have felt very supported by both! Highly recommend.
The best modified van dealership for people with all manor of disabilities in the area with both new and used vans. They also help adapt all personal vehicles to the owners needs which includes pretty much all other vehicles, not just vans. I've personally dealt with them for 10 years now, I have no complaints and plan to keep dealing with them for as long as I need an adaptive vehicle. I would give them 10 out 5 stars if possible and I recommend them over any other place that does the kind of modifications that they do.
I was never asked about my transportation needs or abilities. I wanted independence for Dr. appointments. After 5 hours, I had to ask about securing wheelchair in back. He showed my husband. Never even asked if I could do it. Good salesman though. Convinced my husband. I have a $60,000 van in my driveway I can't drive because I can't secure my wheelchair. If you are handicapped, beware and be firm. JAN. 31, 2020. ALMOST A MONTH SINCE MY VAN WAS PURCHASED. IT STILL SITS IN THE YARD AND I have cancelled all my medical and lab appointments. After going over the problem with my salesperson again, there is still no way to secure my wheelchair. This is beyond ridiculous. Its a beautiful van, but if I can't go anyplace in it, its useless to me. This should have been one of the first things discussed. It makes for a very expensive flower pot! I purchased a repair plan for almost everything for 7 years...this was not one of the things covered... ALMOST OCTOBER...I'm ashamed to say how much money I've put into this to watch it sit in the yard. I still cannot secure my wheelchair so my husband still has to take time off to take me to the Dr. The salesman has no more ideas either except to put more money into it that I just don't have. Why was this never discussed before I spent my pension for the next 6 years on it, trusting he knew what I needed. The wheelchair was left outside in the garage during the test drive. I'm beginning to wonder if this might have been on purpose. Getting a new wheelchair won't solve the problem either, he said I would still have to put thousands of dollars worth of new, cumbersome things in the van. WHY WASN'T I TOLD BEFORE I BOUGHT THIS USELESS THING !!!!! I wanted to be independent again. January 19, 2021- More than A YEAR HAS PASSED NOW. I have a new wheelchair, but there is no way to secure that is this vehicle either. I've driven it about 3 times this year when someone else can go with me to help with the wheelchair. So much for my independence. The chair cannot be secured safely using legal guidelines, according to the salesman, so even riding in the chair means I am putting myself at risk. I have been putting my health at risk now too, by needing to cancel specialists appointments and lab tests. Now I don't even bother to reschedule because I can't get there in the van I have been making payments on for more than a year now. After I first discovered my chair couldn't be secured in it right after I made the downpayment and signed the papers, before I even got to start the engine for the first time,, I asked about reselling it and was told I would take a significant loss. All my pension is tied up in this, so I was caught with no real options. It really upsets me when they say they do an extensive needs assessment when, obviously, none was done for me or, of course, I never would have bought it. Unless you already know exactly what you need in a modified vehicle, LOOK ELSEWHERE LEST YOU FIND YOURSELF PAYING FOR A VEHICLE THAT IS NOT EVEN SAFE FOR YOU TO RIDE IN.
In my 16 year experience with MW in the Albany area, I have always found the entire staff to be very oriented to the customer as individuals. The sales and service staff are current in their knowledge of available conversions and adaptive equipment. Any sale is geared towards the customers current and perhaps longterm needs, 6 month maintenance is thorough and unexpected repairs are dealt with asap. Staff is a call away: when I was out of state and my van required special work, pronto, my van man got me set up with a highly reputable area garage that towed, repaired and then returned my van to where I was staying. I trust the Albany MW crew to watch out for my safety and mobilty van needs and wellness.
Mobility Works is a nationwide company that caters to making vehicles accessible for handicapped individuals. They do everything from selling handicapped accessible vans to installing hand controls. There is a service department there. The staff is extremely knowledgeable about what they do & very eager to help or answer any questions. I had them install hand controls in my vehicle when it got too difficult for me to drive using my feet. They talked me throught the entire process, from where to take the driver's classes to how they would be installed & the cost. They even picked up my vehicle the night before & brought it in since I wasn't able to drive with my feet any longer. I highly recommend this company.
Spent months working with the company with intent to self purchase for a second vehicle due to insurance only covering one vehicle for a child. He can’t always be with me. They lost the waiver insurance bid and when I engaged unknowing they lost the bid asking about the costs, I was treated very badly and harshly told to never contact them again regarding this matter. There was a lack of communication with the insurance reps, but they treated me very badly without reason or explanation. I am left to assume something was said to them on the other end that angered them.
From the drivers that picked me up, to everyone I worked with, they were all kind, helpful and professional. They understood my unique situation and lead me to the best solution!! Great people.
