Awesome little hideaway in terms of showers! Super convenient if you’re anywhere near the Mogollon Rim to stop and refresh at. It’s also convenient if you have an R.V or looking to stop at the restaurant or general store in its direct vicinity.
While I did not actually stay at the park, we were camping in the area and needed to do some laundry last summer. I called up this facility and the lady I talked to was kind enough to let me use the facilities for a few loads of laundry. My kids and I played a few games of chess on the giant chess board outside. The park was very peaceful and the folks were so kind to us. Even invited us to the afternoon bridge game while we waited for laundry!
Our stay in the park model rental was perfect. The facilities are great, the cabin has just about everything you need for a relaxing getaway! The park hosts Don and Lyn were very friendly. We will definitely come back.
Let me start off by saying my wife and I have worked with children over 20 years each and are very easygoing and patient people. It would take a very extreme situation to push either of us to the point of anger or disappointment. Our weekend at your property was just that, a very disappointing situation that proves some people just don't have people skills and should consider a career change. A little advice for our camp host, Don: Being kind and thinking about your actions prior to approaching your guest will save you so much stress. Don physically ran up to our porch with a red face and angered facial expression yelling at us while he's a foot from my young daughter, scaring the s*** out of her.. I had to step in front of her because I was scared for her safety! Don should have calmly walked up to our porch, asked for the adult in charge and simply ask us to keep it down. The point would have been taken so much easier, especially being the 1st time he'd talked to us about any issues. Don and your wife who is obviously encouraging your behavior, remember this: Life is too short to stress about little things like did they rip us off for a bag of ice, are they one child over occupancy, did they start up their razor 5 min before time, are they having too much fun? Last thing, I believe you blew this whole situation out of proportion for one simple reason, to allow you to get one more strike against the tenant on our deck that you didn't like from previous experience. You destroyed our weekend to get at someone you didn't like and made it something it was not.
What could've been a great weekend trip to a cute cabin was ruined by their hot-tempered manager, Don. He watched our every move from the minute we got there from his RV, conveniently located right next door the only cabin in the park. We felt like he was waiting for us to break a rule so he could reprimand us. When he couldn't find anything to complain about, he came out and screamed at us like we were children that we were being too loud and threatening to kick us out! He was completely exaggerating our noise level, especially at 7:20 in the evening and broad daylight out, long before their designated quiet time! He gave no prior warning before flying off the handle and terrified my 12 year- old daughter by screaming very close to her face! When trying to submit a formal complaint about management, the only way to contact the owner is through a shared email address that goes through management as well. Who knows if the owner ever even saw my complaint because I received no response at all to address my concerns. I would not stay here unless under new management! ***My reply to his response below: Your manager is a complete liar! When the reservation was made by the other couple staying with us, they were not sure if my children were coming. We were charged at the end of the trip for 3 extra adolescents, when one if my children is only 5 and definitely not an adolecent! But we paid the extra in full, without complaint. That would be Lie #1 that your management told you. As for the smoking, we were told that smoking was allowed on the deck as long as the can/ashtray was being used. All smokers used the can or empty bottles for ashtrays the entire weekend. If their stalking manager thought he saw something different, it would be so irresponsible for him not to say something! He didn't say anything because it simply did not happen! That would be Lie #2. Mr. Heidrich, if this is really you responding, I don't need a refund. I just hope you reconsider trusting these people so much with your business. If this really is you, you are just as unprofessional as your staff and would never consider stepping foot in your park again.
Under new owners and management. Owners don't know how to operate a RV park. Very off-beat and self obsorb. Not willing to take the time to make sure work is done properly. Management hasn't operated a RV park. They are typically very rude in a public seating. They look to the owners for answers and get the look back I don't know don't you know. You can see that this leads to big problems. So I have lowered my rating to one star. I will update if things change. I have been a tenant of this RV park since 1993. Love the park and area for longer. If these owners don't sell the RV park there won't be in a RV park to enjoy for much longer.
I just purchased an RV here & all employees are top nothch & this park is great. Top notch park in the most beautiful place in Arizona.
Older place. Only one transient spot, the rest monthlies. Very clean restrooms/showers. Good store across hiway. Park is right on hiway, slows @ night. Phoenix was 106 degrees, here we were in sweaters! Elevation 7,500 ft. In scrub and pine forest. Enjoyed our June '17 visit. Jim Hart BH Ranch, Hereford AZ
Management was very friendly and made us very comfortable... Very knowledgeable and helpful pointing us in the right directions to ride our Rzr. Rented a cute little cabin that was very nice and they made sure we had everything we needed. We will be going back. Mike and Jenine Dominice
Very friendly neighbors and an all around clean and organized RV park. The managers are outstanding - very helpful and go above and beyond!
