Mon is a nationality, a minority from Myanmar (Burma.) The Mon Asian Market consists of a wide variety of quality Southeast Asian groceries and an authentic Thai restaurant thats the best in town. The grocery side of the market not only has drinks, snacks, fresh vegetables every week, frozen products and ingredients from Southeast Asia but also a selection of cooking equipment and utensils such as large quality butcher knives. On the restaurant side we have fine cuisine such as Pho, Boat Noodle Soup, Pad Thai, Papaya Salad, Tom Yum Soup, Green and Red Curry, all of which can be made take-out. The Mon Asian Market is a truly unique experience to New Bern, but what really sets them apart is not only the food but also the Boba drinks that come in the flavors; Thai Tea, Coconut, Taro, Strawberry, Green Tea, Milk Tea, Coffee, Mango, Honey Dew, and Avocado.

Absolutely the best Thai food I've had in a long time!  The egg noodles were cooked perfectly and the sauce was excellent!  My parents had never eaten Thai before but this will become their new favorite place to go.

This is rather an odd setup for a restaurant /market,  Due to the fact that there is no wall separation so while you die in the restaurant you observe people Walking around the market shopping. So I'm assuming what's the restaurant in running in full swing, There is no cash as the attendant on the market side. So you'll stand there at the counter looking like a fool no sign telling you to go to the restaurant to have your items Check out by the cash here. I've been doing with this market restaurant for years now it has changed inside. But I have to say on the restaurant side the food is absolutely delicious and the market side definitely has a  A variety of items to choose from

This place used to be awesome you'd walk inside there was an attendant at the cab register, But I have seen that they have changed the way they do business there. So now when you pick up your goods in the market side you have to go to the restaurant side in order to pay which No sense whatsoever. There is no sign to guide you to do this so you  Stand at the counter until a customer informs you you have to go to the restaurant site in order to pay for goods picked up on the market side.

Tried this place for the first time. Had the Pho, it was really good. I will be back to try the Drunken noodles. Nice place. Nothing fancy. Place your order at the counter. If you eat in they bring the food to you. I ate in, very clean and the staff was very nice. Went back and tried the Drunken noodles....very good.

Ordered the chicken pad Thai today to go.  When I opened the container at home it was orange colored.  Never had orange colored pad Thai before.  Definitely not the best I ever had.  It was just okay, definitely not enough bean sprouts for one.  I guess I expected more from the reviews here.  Should have taken a picture because it's hard to believe how it looked.  I would not order it again. Staff was friendly though. There are better Asian grocery stores too. Sorry but that's my opinion and I have been to numerous Asian markets and eaten in many Thai restaurants mainly in the Northeast.  Very disappointed.

I really can't say enough nice things about this place. The food is always excellent, the people always friendly, and the prices reasonable. The one time something wasn't right for us, they made it right. If you like Thai, Mon Asian is a rare gem.Food: 5/5

Good place to get your Pho fixing. Food is really good considering the small set up they have. Good selection of spices and condiments. Also a plus for their boba. Specially cause I like my Pho spicy. Plus they have a grocery store right next to it.

Good food at a fair price. I'm here on vacation and this is one of those hidden gems that's worth checking out.  I got the drunken noodles which were good. The store section has a great selection of asian specialty foods

The food is amazing, I had the beef basil stir fry and a coffee Boba . They have an awesome store with a great candy selection and lots of food choices to take home and cook for yourself. Can’t wait to go back , staff is awesome too , very helpful and friendly. Thank you for great service
