Would be 4.5 stars if they would lay off watering it and turning it into a soggy mess. Maybe change some mowing lines and get it playing firm and fast. Great layout. Best around, but metropolitan plays much more like a links course. Fast and firm. Greens at monarch are generally really nice. Worth what they charge.
Awesome links course... Best value in the Bay Area... Great manager, great assistant manager, great staff... Honest friendly people... Challenging course... Only negative but it's to be expected when the deal is this good, is a round on the weekend can take 5.5 hrs.
Great facility. The executive course or the full 18 hole course make it worth it to spend a day of golf. Friendly staff that make you feel welcome.
Great course with such an awesome view! Participated in a tournament 7/14/2019 The grass condition is great 4/5 5 being the best Since it’s by the bay, it could get pretty windy.
Monarch is in decent condition. Few areas where fairway and rough need a little maintenance but not bad. Play was very slow 3hrs thru 10 holes thru 13 holes until a marshal FINALLY came along and pushed the slow grp directly ahead of us.
Crowded but a great course with some solid views of the bay/ sf. Well maintained and regulated. Looks like some great deals/ club rates for folks who live in the area.
Loved being right on the water for the majority of this course. The wind can definitely play a factor here. The greens were in phenomenal shape. Great layout on a lot of holes, as you must be accurate since bunkers are strategically placed. Really a great deal all around. Would play again.
I played this public 18 hole golf course on a weekday noon. A walkable course that can be challenging depending on the weather. The wind blows hard from the bay and local knowledge is definitely a plus when reading the greens. Plenty of holes to drive that ball hard. Unfortunately there’s no rangers so pace can be a crapshoot.
Nice golf course. I played quite nice prices. Fairwy and greens was good. If u r play after lunch, watch out for a winds.
Too many people and very crowded, green still have a room to improve.
