Monmouth County Library Shrewsbury Nj

Beautiful, modern library. Easy access, easy parking. Helpful staff. We came for a specific DVD that we located online on the library website, but found sooooo many more on the shelves that we want to borrow and watch! We are not Monmouth residents yet, our grandson is and I check the site and recommend stuff that I read from the children's section of my library!

Wonderful place to wander around and see lots of books. It's a very cozy library and has something for everyone! So lucky to have this place to come to!

Always enjoyed this Monmouth County Library; I have been going here for many years... before there were computers. It used to be extremely busy; but it was always enjoyable. The staff has always been friendly and helpful. A good place to find a few good books and relax. One of the best libraries for research.

This is my go-to library. I love the book selection, the visual attractiveness of the decor, the comfort, and the accessibility. Staff are helpful and courteous. I've been coming here for many years and will for many more,!

This was my library as a kid and I’m lucky it was in the same town. My brothers and I used to ride our bikes here and rent movies and check out books. It’s clean, safe, relatively modern, and the librarians are all friendly and helpful when you need help. The reference desk librarians are pretty great whenever I’m not sure how to go about researching something. As an adult I find myself feeling fortunate to have access to this library. I frequently utilize the law collection housed in the Eastern Branch. It is a complete collection of New Jersey case law, statutes, and county and local regulations, rules, and ordinances. It is the next best thing to a law school library. There is also a significant amount of New York law material, which I also utilize less frequently than NJ. I do wish the library would go fully digital. Access to WestLaw or LexisNexis via the library would be an amazing thing. It would also stop the ridiculous purchase of new editions year after year, while destroying the prior year edition in accordance with the publisher’s policy. Those prior year law books should be donated to legal aid, law schools, law societies, and lawyers in general like me. The fact that a library is in on destroying books is at least ironic.

Always a welcoming staff. Clean, organized library. A Monmouth County treasure.

Absolutely love this library! The staff is so courteous and they have a large collection of books. Even if they don't, they get it for you from other library systems upon request.

Eastern branch has good selection of non-fiction and fiction, and friendly helpful librarians.
