The Health Department accomplishes its objectives through the following steps.
*Promoting awareness and education of Personal and Environmental Public Health issues.
*Monitoring Public Health activities within the community for compliance with state and local laws and needs.
*Promulgating appropriate Public Health standards for the above mentioned activities, when applicable.
*Encouraging development of needed health services when identified as such.
*Providing an avenue for the development and implementation of Health Services which may not be otherwise available in the community.
The mission of the Monroe County Health Department is to promote the best achievable scope and quality of health services for the public.
