Commenting Guidelines
The district welcomes community contributions to its Facebook page through the use of comments. Community-contributed comments on the page are the opinion of the specific author and do not represent the Monticello Central School District. Our intent is that users of the Monticello Facebook page will engage in a meaningful dialogue that is both relevant and respectful. Any and all comments are monitored and reviewed during normal business hours to ensure they comply with our commenting guidelines.
In administering the page, the district will abide by Facebook's Statement of Rights and Responsibilities (http://www.facebook.com/terms.php). The school district asks that its Facebook fans do the same. In order to accomplish this goal, please abide by the following guidelines:
Be respectful. Personal attacks or derogatory comments aimed at specific individuals, employees or students are not permitted. Don't make comments that goad others or pick fights.
Be polite. Avoid language that is abusive or inappropriate, including remarks that are racist, sexist, sexually explicit or obscene. Profanity is not allowed.
Be relevant. Let's keep the conversation related to the topic at hand. Do not post comments that advertise or promote a product or service. Spam and commercial advertisements will be deleted. In addition, do not use the Monticello Central School District Facebook page in place of standard communication practices, such as contacting your school principal to share personal issues and concerns.
Be factual. Blatantly inaccurate, libelous or false information will be removed.
By commenting, you also recognize that your comments are your own, and that you hold Monticello Central School District and all subsidiaries and representatives harmless from any and all repercussions, damages, or liability.
Please note that all comment postings are at the discretion of the page administrators. Please be certain that your comments are appropriate for an educational environment and for fans of all ages. The page administrator reserves the right to remove comments, not to limit criticism, but to protect the privacy and rights of staff and students.
