Dr. Arthur and Hannah, a dental hygienist, set the standard for dental care! For my new patient appointment, Dr. Arthur came out to greet me, took time to get to know me and understand my needs as a patient and was incredibly thorough in his exam. He provided great education and made sure to let me ask questions. Hannah also was incredible. She took time to share best practices for dental hygiene and asked me questions to get to know me as a patient. I am so excited to be receiving care here and would recommend them to anyone!
Im not much for switching dentists as a relationship is built over time however, I had to find a new dentist because where I had been going lost their full time hygienist and I couldn’t wait 6 months for a referral for my wisdom tooth and to get a cleaning. I was referred here by my daughter-in-law and I have not been disappointed. Upon entering, their building is new and welcoming! The paperwork I completed was geared towards understanding my current concerns and future wants. I’ve never had a dentist ask if it was your goal to keep your born with teeth or what you would like to change about your smile. The doctor came out to welcome me which was a first, shaking my hand. He and his assistant did several X-rays and talked with me about my dental health. I then met his hygienist which was one of the sweetest I’ve ever met. Was surprised how she grew up with dentist fears and now working in this field to help others. I am very impressed with everyone there! So very happy to have found my new dentist and will certainly help everyone who is looking for a new dentist, find Doctor Moorekamp! Thank you again!
I love this dentist! It’s actually a very relaxing experience for me like going for a massage. I’m always almost falling asleep on the chair there! The hygienists are very knowledgeable and do a great job and I never leave there in pain. The dentist is very kind and helpful with all my questions and so are the office staff. It’s very clean and efficient and one of the best dentist offices I’ve ever been to. It’s also just a beautiful building and they have bird feeders out in the spring just to add to the super relaxing experience. : I saw three kinds of birds while they were cleaning my teeth.
I did observation hours there for dental hygiene. They are the most kind and welcoming staff, how they work together and the offices energy is amazing! The hygienist were so helpful, knowledgeable and so sweet!!! Thank you for letting me do observation hours!!!!!
Super thankful they were able to get me in same day, the whole staff was pleasant and took great care during the visit Plus they have bird feeders setup outside the exam rooms creating an extra calming atmosphere.
I could never say enough good things about this clinic! I've been a patient here since I was a kid and I never understood why my friends disliked going to the dentist until I realized how exemplary this clinic is. Dr. Moorkamp, Dr. Arthur, Dr. Steven, and their staff go out of their way to get to know their patients and make sure they feel comfortable, welcome and informed. They are all very passionate about their profession and giving the highest quality care and it shows!
Dr. William Moorkamp is the best dentist we've ever had, and we were very happy with his meticulous attention to detail and his outstanding individualized focus on customer service. We inherited Dr. Arthur as our new dentist, once Dr. Moorkamp retired, and we chose to leave the practice in February 2022, because front office staff were no longer wearing masks, during the height of the omicron variant. When I asked about this, my husband and I were both referred to Dr. Arthur, and he basically dismissed our concerns. We opted to wait until Covid numbers had lowered, because our children had been exposed to Covid in their office in August of 2021. Alia had alerted us to the exposure the following day. My husband and I both felt that our arguments for wearing masks among office staff and patients during the height of the pandemic were ignored by Dr. Arthur. Initially, when I expressed my concerns to a receptionist, she said, "She didn't want to live in fear." We outlined how every other medical building we had visited required masks of all people at that time, Mercy, being one of them. After speaking to Dr. Arthur, I wrote an email trying to outline my concerns more clearly, and after I got no response, my husband called and spoke with him. And yet, we both got the same impression--that he absolutely did not care whether he retained us as clients or not. He was polite, but dismissed us. There were some other issues at the practice, that may not have been such a big deal, had Dr. Arthur considered our concerns about masking. In its new location, the practice has expanded, and increased its volume of customers, but it seems to be the antithesis to what we liked about Dr. Moorkamp's office and the feeling that we mattered to the staff and office. I know they moved to a new building, and acquired some new staff, but I was not told in advance how much my night guard would cost beforehand, and I should have asked, but it was $1,000, and I had to come back in to have it partially re-done because one of the techs had broken the original mold. Dr. Arthur said he would adjust the night guard as much as possible for me, but when I complained it still didn't feel right, he told me to give it some time and I could still have it readjusted, even though I had already made 2 trips in to have it adjusted. That appointment was made over text by a receptionist, who told me we'd push out the appointment a week later because Dr. Arthur was gone, and when I called to confirm the date and time, she had given me a random date and time that did not coincide with exactly a week later, as she had communicated. As it is now, I haven't worn the $1,000 night guard I bought from them in January 2022, because we left the practice. I'm sad and frustrated at this turn of events, because as I said--we loved Dr. William Moorkamp, but I still don't understand Dr. Arthur's lack of follow-through, lack of focus on customer service, and apathy about retaining clients. I know Dr. William Moorkamp was a rare gem. I think we could have been OK, had Dr. Arthur considered our point of view and made some sort of attempt to rectify the situation. Regardless of the issue, patients want to feel valued and heard.
My daughter recently had a tooth knocked out, in a playground accident. I knew I wanted to have my daughter examined, by a dentist, to make sure everything was okay. My daughter's regular dentist office is closed on Fridays, and come to find out MOST dentists, in Rolla, are closed on Fridays. I called Moorkamp and Arthur and explained our situation. They offered to call another dentist, on my behalf, but when that didn't work either, they offered to examine my daughter because her tooth did come out rather violently; even though, they themselves don't schedule patients on Fridays. The staff, the building, and Dr. Steve were all amazing. The best parts being that my daughter has no lasting issues or concerns, and the beautiful, picture windows with bird feeders, in the exam rooms.
I have always had anxiety when going to the dentist. Between worrying about price and the fact that I had not been to a dentist since high-school I was anxious to be seen. Not only was I made to feel comfortable, the price was also great considering I had what was considered a major tooth repair. I was talked to as if I have been going there for years and my concerns were addressed professionally. I will definitely be going back for all other dental needs and will be establishing care soon.
In the past, I've never looked forward to visiting the dentist because of jaw pain and anxiety. While I can't say I do look forward to it now, I can say that when I walk into Moorkamp and Arthur Family Dentistry, the anxiety I feel is eased, and I know that everything is going to be done to alleviate my pain. All of the staff and doctors are extremely friendly and accommodating--they treat me like family. I live in Springfield, but the two-hour drive to Rolla is well worth it when I know I'm going to receive excellent care and treatment from wonderful people!
