I was an employee, not a patient. In the interview, I told the dentist that I needed to be trained since I had never worked in a dental office before. She told me that was not a problem and I would get trained. Once I was working in office, no one trained me. There was only one dental assistant besides myself and she said she didn’t have time to train anyone and that I would have to train myself. No one in the office was friendly. The dentist was very immature, hard to work with, and had anger problems. The dentist threw instruments across the table when a patient made her upset one time. She treated the patients poorly and did not get along with many. Knowing I was new and untrained, she constantly yelled at me when I did something the wrong instead of telling me how to do it the right way. When I tried to assist her in a patient’s room, she always told me to leave and called in another assistant. They didn’t want me doing anything but sterilize the instruments. How am I supposed to learn how to do anything if she won’t let me do anything? The dentist would shut down the office a lot and tell us it was optional work days. She had stopped me at the door after work and asked me if I was going to come into work on the optional work day one time and I said no. She asked me why I was not going to work and I said because it’s an optional work day and I have stuff to do at home. She got angry and slammed the door in front of me. The office ladies also criticized my weight and how much I was eating at lunch time constantly. I felt so out of place that I started eating my lunch in my car and I didn’t look forward to going to work most days. The list can go on with all of the bad things that went on in the office. It was a hard time on my mental health. Avoid working here.
I still have another appointment set up for next week and to say I’m looking forward to it would be a lie. What I am looking forward to though is the care I know I will be receiving before, during and after. Every one of the professional TEAM members were calm, inviting, caring and communicative. The doctor herself So grateful to have found someone with good bedside manner who made me feel like an individual without judgement. I don’t have insurance but am willing to continue to pay out of pocket for the quality of care like I received yesterday. Thank you so much! Edited to add, the follow up appointment in which I was to get my tooth extracted ended up in a failed attempt. There were multiple red flags for me that I ignored and told myself was just my nervousness! There was no communication from the dentist, I had to ask questions which is obviously not something you can do while getting dental work done. It was as if I wasn’t even there, she was just there to do her job and get the tooth out however she does what she does. I was making grunting noises due to the discomfort and pain I was feeling while she continuously explained to me she “hadn’t even started yet, once we start we can’t stop.” When I tried to ask about and explain that the pressure felt like she was ripping my jaw up along with the tooth in front of the one that was needing extracted, I was told I was making her too nervous, she didn’t know what I was feeling and I needed to see an oral surgeon because she just didn’t feel comfortable. After the dentist left the assistant came back in and put a temporary on my tooth that the dentist had broke while trying to pry my tooth from my gums for what felt like forever! I was made to believe this was going to be an easy extraction, with what I would say was the most painless numbing shot I have ever received, but now, it has not only left me with distrust and fear but my cheek/area and jaw haven’t felt the same since the numbing wore off. I apologized so many times for this not working out and making her feel uncomfortable enough to stop what she literally does every day for a living. Maybe it was an off day, I don’t know, I just know I have felt defeated ever since. Another Edit To Add: I ended up seeing an oral surgeon so I could be “put under” because that was what I was made to believe I needed when my appointment here didn’t end well. The day of surgery I was allowed to opt out of being knocked out and I’m so glad I did. It was a breeze compared to coming here. No grunting noises because there was absolutely no pain or pressure. I was communicated with the whole time and felt like the oral surgeon actually cared. I’m glad my appointment here stopped when it did so I could get the proper treatment.
Highly recommend Dr Westmoreland and staff. They are very good at what they do. I got 2 fillings 2 of my front teeth and you can’t even see them!
First time here. Office staff was friendly and efficient. Little wait time to see hygientist and dentist. Both were friendly and thorough with exam. Will definitely be back. Scheduled next 6 mo. appointment.
Very professional place. The employees are very nice and accommodating and Dr. Linda is very helpful with your continued plan for dental. Great place to go.
Looks like it is a reoccurring issue with this dentist and young children. She did good with both of my children during the cleanings and check up, mainly because her awesome staff primarily handled everything. When I took my son back in for a filling, he was treated awesome again by the staff, but when the dentist came in to do the filling, the whole mood changed. She had no patience for someone experiencing a dental procedure for the first time. She was very cold and made a scene when he squirmed when she was attempting to give him the numbing shot. She has no business dealing with children. She gave the impression that she either A Hates her job, or B Has no patience for young patients. If this is how she is with all children, she should not accept new young patients. I will not be taking my children back to this dentist.
Denise is such a pleasant lady. I was taken care of quickly and very well.!
Linda's a great dentist and informative! The receptionists do a very good job with your appointments to..
Everytime I have been into the clinic every person has been super sweet. I expressed my first visit that I had high anxiety about dentist due to some past experiences. They all have just been so wonderful and made me feel very comfortable.
Dr. Westmoreland is so good. I always feel better after my visit. And I never said that about any dental appointment ever. She's kind, gentle, positive, thorough, and also very honest. She is a straight shooter for sure. But I do a much better job of keeping my teeth clean because of it.
