Any place that will allow a customer to take their bike inside their store is worthy of a good review. Many times I have too many items on my bike and when I am allowed to my bike in and put my electric off to the side while I do my purchase, it is a great feeling..I give Morgan liquors and Safeway both a 5 for allowing me to do this! Safeway is in same complex and share the same parking lot.
Stopped in to grab something to take home and relax. Since this was my first time here, I had no idea how to navigate the store. They were so helpful to me. Even if I didn't get help, the store is so well organized I would have found my own way. Because we are in uncertain times, this pandemic, this store is clean! I didn't expect to see clean floors, counters, shelves etc. This is really what makes a difference while shopping. I'll pay more for this service and the attention to detail. I wish had my phone with me to have taken pictures! Thank you Morgans, although you're in an opposite direction, by a few blocks, I'll be happy to drive it for your exceptional service and sincere concern for your customers!
Great staff!!! And the scenery is just as good!!! Only been there a few times, but they are very helpful for an at home bartender. All the ammunition to get it done. Definitely got my 15 pieces of flair and expressed myself!!! Hellz ya!!!
Sketchy vibes. I’ve been going to this liquor store for about 6 months now and I usually don’t have to show ID yes, I know. They know me by face at the liquor store. I know how that sounds lol. However, when I went there on Monday of this week, an employee who definitely knew me and who I would check out with all the times asked me to show ID. A bit odd, but I didn’t really care so I showed it. Even though every other liquor store from here to California has had zero problem with my Colorado driver’s license, this employee scrutinized it because there was a small crack in the bottom which I fixed with tape. I showed my military ID instead and they said that one was fine, but even after they had verified my identity, the employee continued to read over both of my ID’s as if to memorize a number or something she was also with a sketchy looking guy I hadn’t seen before who was also eyeing my ID’s. I’m no stranger to identity theft and I definitely would not put it past certain employees who work here. I have been watching my bank accounts and such closely and nothing out of the ordinary has happened yet, but it’s best to err on the side of caution and avoid this place. Total Wine and Spirits is right down the road basically and they have better prices in the first place.
Staff is very friendly. No matter what the holiday or weekend event, they always wish you well. Definitely a returning customer. The text deals and 10% off every 10th trip is awesome too!
Best liquor store in Denver. The local atmosphere is great! All the employees there know their stuff and are more than willing to help. They also have a zero tolerance policy for underage buyers using fake ID and the whole counter is littered with them it's hilarious.
For someone who doesn't drink a lot I must say that I rather enjoyed my shopping experience at Morgan Liquors. Located on the south east corner of Evan's and Downing. This establishment has been here for a very long time. I can remember it being here in the eighties and nineties! This particular time was just before Thanksgiving and I was in charge of picking up the Holiday Drinks. I picked up Bottles of Jack Daniel's, Peach Crown, and Jim Beam " Red Stag". The Jim Beam is a Black Cherry Liqueur infused with Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey. I must say this was the first time I had tried this and I loved it. I normally stay with my Jack Daniel's But this Red Stag was almost enough to change my Favorite Whiskey! Any way to stay on track. I highly recommend Morgan Liquors for your next party needs. Enjoy!
I once went in knowing I wanted to get stuff to learn how to make a dirty martini with and had not much else in my mind. In ten minutes I was told four different ways to make a martini that fit my drinking preferences and was assisted in finding everything I didn't even know I was going to need and want. In the two years I've been coming here, the staff have without fail been incredibly helpful, kind, and knowledgeable.
They have a great selection of beer Wine and Liquor and their customer rewards program gives you 10% off for every 10 purchases. The employees are polite helpful and funny. Just don't try to get away with a fake ID!
I don't get the negative reviews on this store. First the non-sale prices are typical of smaller liquor stores in Denver, if not a little cheaper although not always. This isn't a big store that can discount based on volume. If you want cheap you'll need to leave the neighborhood, which cost you more in gas then you'll save unless you are buying for a party. I have never had problem with the staff. A couple of them are very friendly and a couple of them will check you out and if you ask dumb questions you might get a terse response. If you act like you are more important than another customer you should just leave the store. But the couple of times I've had issues they've been very accommodating. It's a local place. With the "Beer of the Month" selection and the 10% off after 10 purchased this is the best local place around. As for the selection: Better than most of the smaller liquor stores you'll find. Not as good as some. There are some Colorado breweries I like they don't carry, but then I haven't found those in stores of their size very often. I drink beer and they have porter and stouts. I have three liquor stores closer to me, both aren't cheaper and both don't have a porter or stout anywhere in the store. For my ability to buy a type of beer I want Morgan's come through more times that not.
