Planning to open in 2018, MOSAIC Children's Museum is dedicated to inspiring and empowering children through science, art, imagination, and creativity. MOSAIC is more than a children’s museum; our vision is to become a full-lifecycle community resource starting with young children where we motivate learning and curiosity. We also offer youth volunteer opportunities to not only learn real world business skills, they can contribute their ideas and visions for exhibits, programs, and marketing; fulfilling the graduation volunteer requirements in a most impactful way. As children and youth grow older and start families of their own, they have a place to bring their children to experience a part of not only their history but our community’s history. Our community’s elders are invited to engage with the newest generation through teaching, reading, and play while providing seniors a renewed sense purpose. Mixing our children’s innocence with our senior’s wisdom helps bring a balance for the future while honoring our past.
Our present-day goal is to help shape and enhance Woodland's future. Our downtown Main Street location will contribute to the local economy, increasing tourism and foot traffic to local businesses. Our presence will help balance the revitalization efforts of new nightlife, restaurants, and shopping in creating a downtown accessible to all ages and contributing to Woodland’s cultural experience. When young families consider where to invest and set roots, we want to be known as the family friendly option, committed to a sense of community.
In the same way a mosaic brings individual pieces together to create a beautiful work of art, MOSAIC Children’s Museum unites our community in a full lifecycle collective of science, art, imagination, and creativity for every generation.
