Mount Vernon Mortuary provided a stress free service I would highly recommend them to anyone who needs this. The whole service was outstanding especially Ashley Young and her grandfather. Ashley Young went way over the above. When I first met her she made me feel so good and loved that I felt very comfortable leaving. Each time I met with her she made me feel at ease with no regrets or worries. John her grandfather who did the service for my wife did and outstanding service and again was very happy with. After the service all the guests told me that the service was outstanding and they were very happy that my wife was treated with class. I want to thank the catering staff, ground staff, and everyone who made this happen and easy with no pressure or worry. Thank you all Especially Ashley Young
My father has been buried here since 1984. He is buried in the Garden of Hope, which should be named the GARDEN OF THE FORGOTTEN.. In the recent years the lawn upkeep has gone downhill fast. Ive complained inside about the lawncare. Headstones have grass growing over them. There is multiple sections of dead/dying grass, while up front the sprinklers are going full force in the heat of the California hot sun. Its already 91 degrees outside at 1:10 pm on July 26, 2023. Ive been told that they are in the midst of getting a new lawn care company. And that those changes happen on September 1. For all the money that people pay for their loved ones to have eternal care, chose wisely. And yet they continue to build for your dollar when they don't take care of those they have already made a commitment to take care of.
If I could give negative stars, I truly would. Lost my brother in law. The director, don't recall his name and the designated assigned funeral host, has had to be the worst service I have ever received in my entire life! Not to mentioned I traveled from the Midwest. The lack of compassion for the families' loss. The horrible customer service, and let's not forget how argumentative the guy was to me a woman! I'm at utter loss of words to describe the experience. I will be contacting the State of California Cemetery and Funeral Bureau to file a complaint.
From the start, we were comfortable in knowing these folk’s only interest was in helping us feel comfortable that Mt Vernon was a great choice in assisting us in our upcoming needs. There were no hiccups in the entire process, each and every person, that helped us work through our concerns, was genuine in their efforts to insure our experience would be pleasant given the circumstances. We were and are very happy with Mt Vernon. A special recognition and thank you goes out to Jennifer.
Today we celebrated my daughter's life and the service was beautiful and Ashley has been amazing thank you! You are great at your job and you've been a big help during the hardest time of my life and pastor John Mitchell thank you for honoring my daughter's life and you did amazing as well thank you all at Mount vernon!
Worst experience ever. The staff is so unprofessional. High turnover and unresponsive. Grounds are unkept. Used to be my family's cemetery. Of current family members, no one will be continuing the tradition here due to our most recent experience and the look of the place now. Honestly surprised at how incompetent unresponsive, inconsistent information was given and how they don't care in the least. They would admit mistakes were made and yet no apologies were given. Shocking as we've been burying our loved ones here since the 70's. We still own 2 plots there that we will be selling rather than using.
The staff at Mt Vernon were all exceptional. Friendly, comforting and very professional. Our time they’re working with them before the services and the day of the service was incredible that they made it easy on us. There was one error with the flowers and the fixed without questions. They were all amazing and easy to work with.
The staff and grounds crew are phenomenal. They assiduous in every way possible and made the passing of our mother a much easier experience. Very compassionate and caring. We would like to thank them all
Called for arrangements and the guy who returned my call treated myself and wife as if we weren't of any value because cost was a concern. Once we had admitted money concerns the value of our loved one went out the window.
Recently, my grandfather passed away and I was handling the arrangements. I had the good fortune of working with Haley H., a funeral director at Mt. Vernon Mortuary. Haley was kind, empathetic and extremely helpful. She answered all my questions and was very easy to communicate with. She was very thorough and handled all the details. Grieving families are not always the calmest but Haley handled it with grace and professionalism. If you have to plan a service I hope you have the good fortune to have Haley H. by your side when doing so.
