The food is incredible here. I can understand why there sandwhiches are voted best in Big Bear. Quality food and service. The server took great care of me, even when i order a small she made it a big order for the pancakes. I forgot her name but she needs a raise! Burritos here are so delicious too. I will be back for sure!
Beyond impressed with this family owned spot. Traveling from out of town and thought we’d give it a try. I don’t frequently diners often as I eat vegetarian and am pretty picky - but WOW! this place was delicious. my veggie burger had avocado, onion, pickle, lettuce. it was so fresh. and the fries were awesome. we’ll be back!
This is an excellent little restaurant in Big Bear. First off, I cannot emphasize enough how on-point the service is. They were apologizing for shorter delays shorter than most restaurants would even have. Second, the food is awesome! It may be hard to mess up pancakes or french toast, but it's also hard to elevate them, and yet they did just that. Also, their sausages are light and not greasy, and I loved their hot chocolate. Will definitely come back if I'm in the area
I was going to give 2 stars...but my husband insisted only 1...and after considering everything I have to unfortunately agree. We were very hungry...hadn't eaten all day...before heading back down the mountain Monday 12/20/21 we need to get a meal. We stopped at Mountain Munchies. I wish we didn't. It's certainly a hole in the wall, but for all the wrong reasons. Yes many unsuspecting people sitting down and ordering To Go. The wait to be seated we thought would straighten out when we sat down however it too over an hour to be served. I kept asking if we should just walk out...but we waited it out....we finally were served. I got the breakfast burrito...I was so hungry I ate it...but it had an undertone of dirty griddle...didn't eat the whole thing...but I was so sick for the 180 mile ride home! I'm still messed up! I wish I did just walk out...I wish that thing wasn't in me. My husband had the burger and fries....not bad...but we both agreed for the wait the prices...the nominal service...it wasn't worth it. It's very pricey....long wait... dirty griddle flavor....sick to our stomach all the way home....hmmm
We went up to Big Bear from Palm Springs California because we love the snow and it we saw it was going to snow, I'm originally from Oregon and get home sick in the desert and Big Bear reminds me of home a lot, and we found this restaurant close to the grocery store we were at and I'm so glad we found it. We ordered mozzarella sticks, chicken strips, fries and biscuits and gravy, the food was delicious. I will be returning. cncsbeautyandmore
Friendly service while dining in, we got checked on for refills ect. The burgers were fantastic along with the fries. Chicken tenders were fresh and juicy. And bacon was cooked to perfection.
First time. Pictures of the food looks really good. Tried the pastrami sandwich...was really tasty - dare I say even better than The Hat? But the bread was completely soggy. Food took awhile - probably cuz it was lunch time.Dine in: YesOutdoor seating: NoTakeout: Yes
This place was great! Awesome service and really good food. Very much a home feel, like food your mom makes for you. It is not fancy but clean and very reasonably priced. I would absolutely go back. Our waiter was a doll. Vegetarian options: I'm vegetarian and had no problem finding good choices and they offer substitutes. Kid-friendliness: Definitely a place you can bring children. Parking: Strip mall parking, plentiful. Wheelchair accessibility: Accessible Dietary restrictions: Great service, openly and graciously offers substitutions and options for vegetarian, vegan, gluten free.
The food was delicious, prices were reasonable for the huge portions, and the waitress was very nice, though clearly understaffed. She saw that one of our kids got a kids meal and the other didn't, so she offered to give both kids the juice and cookies so one wouldn't feel left out. She admitted that she felt bad that should couldn't be more attentive. We totally understand, and can't blame her for being the only waitress at that time. Would definitely return.
This place is definitely not a 4.5 stars. The food is OK, very very basic, they charged us 18% service fee even though the service was not great at all, staff is not very friendly and she seemed in a bad mood… had a uncomfortable time because of this. At the end she made an effort to improve her service and we appreciated that. They should have a drink menu!!!!
