Officer Dominic Martinez was more than polite and kind while pulling me over-my fault-and was also very easy to speak to and made me feel safe. We don’t alway get to have great interactions with officers, especially under those circumstances and this guy went above and beyond to make a lame situation a lot more comfortable. Wish there were more officers like him.
I have encountered racism since I was young in elementary school. I graduated high school and had passing grades in college without remediation. I'm constantly harassed for money by women and the police. I have never had the chance to have a family where I was able to support them without being robbed by the police and women that can't get comfortable. I'm comfortable and can support myself with my paycheck. This police department pulled me over for no reason to put me into a primarily white unit. Then wrote extreme paperwork saying how my vehicle was too unsafe to drive. Hopefully a volcano erupts and makes something like scrambled eggs after I'm gone. I'd like someone else to see how agony feels when your all alone with no where to go or no one to help lol
Two words to describe Mount View cops. Corrupt and incompetent. I just got pulled over and handed a fine of 190 dollars. On the citation he gave me, the cop officer Smith didn't even check off a violation on the ticket so there is no description of what violation occurred. Also I wrote down the number on his badge. It was 03-02. Is that the only identifying number for police officers? I wonder, because on the citation he wrote down1206 as the officer number. Not sure what gives here but it smells pretty bad...
Wow, reading that other people have had negative experiences with this police department is really highlighting what seems to be a problem that needs to be dealt with. Here's what happened to me- I was walking to the gym one night and an officer started following me in his car being sure to stay just behind me, for 3 blocks, no communication or indication of what he was doing or wanted. It SCARED the hell out of me- it was like there was a pyscho killer from a horror movie behind the wheel of this car and something really bad was about happen to me. I'm a white male, btw, the fear of police killing me is something I don't walk around with. This experience made me understand how terrifying experiences with our police must be for people of color .When the officer eventually stopped creeping behind me and showed his face, he rolled down his window and asked me what I was doing. Since he had been following me for 3 blocks, I found his question confusing because he could clearly see that I was walking down the street. I responded by saying "Sorry, why you asking me that?" He got out of his car and aggressively got in my face and told me I was walking at night and wearing a hoodie and that seemed suspicious to him. Very rude, very angry, very creepy. The experience really upset and angered me. I felt intimidated, disrespected, harrassed, bullied, violated and truly frightened for my safety, by this person who's supposed to make me feel safer. I didn't think to get his information because I was so shaken. There needs to be a serious investigation into this department for violations and corruption!
Me and my step dad got pulled over on different occasions the cop lied to me and said I ran 3 stop signs and he lied and told my step dad that he entered the wrong way when he clearly didn't. We both got a fine of $370 each. Worst Police department in Colorado.
Wow! What a great community police department. Someone found my wallet and turned it in to them. They went way out of their way to find me- using social media and google. Not only did they find me, but they even delivered my wallet to me across the city at my work! There are still good people in the world! Thank you Mountain View police!
Having just moved into CO and needing to register my vehicle I did a quick search for the nearest place to get my VIN verified/inspected. Mountain View PD popped up and I headed on over to inquire about more information. The lady at the front desk was super polite and gave me contact information to email/call to make an appointment. I received a callback the same night from Detective Rick Reigenborn who would be handling my inspection. An appointment was made for two days later. I just finished up going through the inspection with Detective Reigenborn who was incredibly polite and friendly. The process was quick and easy. Detective Reigenborn also advised me on the next steps for registration + getting an emissions test before going to the DMV. I would highly recommend reaching out to this department for assistance such as the above.
