Ended up here by chance and we were nicely surprised. It catered well for all of us vegetarians and non vegetarians. Food is great and sizes are fair, with some dishes being quite substantial. Nice friendly service.Food: 5/5
I got the enchiladas and didn't like them almost at all. I went in a group and no one really liked their food. The service was just okay, not good. The food looks better than it tastes.Food: 2/5
Recently I gave Mr Tequila's a try. The interior is modern with nice touches of bright color. I ordered a senor quesadilla with chicken. The meal was well made and delicious. The server was polite enough, although not very enthusiastic. Also, while my table was clean, some food bits were noticed on the floor, and the neighboring table seemed to have some salsa residue that needed wiping. Maybe it was bad timing during my visit, and came when the workers were exhausted. It was a little over an hour before closing time, as I recall. Despite a few little hiccups, the stop was worthwhile and the meal was quite tasty.
Ordered on grub hub the birria tacos cuz im from LA and craving them so bad who ever made them burned the cheese to crisp and not juicy birria so dry and really not worth the $$ even the birria consome is water down not red or flavorful very dissapointed not cheesy!!Food: 1/5
Ordered from here on DoorDash. Several bites into my flan I found a big blob of mold INSIDE the flan. Unacceptable.Food: 1/5
Ordered through Grubhub and food arrived on time… HOWEVER ….these are the smallest portions I have ever received with any meal! The menu is pretty pricy for your side of $3 rice to come served in the same condiment dip cups as your salsa? I also paid $5 for tres leches cake and it was a sliver of a piece… literally two forkfuls to visualize. Just beware that you will not receive much food for the prices this place is asking for!!!!
Went for the 1st time to celebrate a birthday and the service was awful. Everyone in our party had their drinks, many alcoholic drinks and multiple of them and I never got my Sprite. Then all the food comes, still no sprite. I was halfway done with my meal before my drink came. We did cake and as I walk into the bathroom to flip on the light to wash my hands, this little roach is on the light switch which is also not attached to the wall. Grossed me out so bad we bounced. Oh, and they add the gratuity on as well as charge you a fee for using a debit or credit card and don’t tell you anywhere up front as they’re required to do. Keep your bland food, terrible service, and roaches. I’ll never return!
Mr. Tequila's Cantina & Grill Indianapolis TLDR: The enchiladas were the star of the show for me and the refried black beans were amazing. Cute decor with a nice bar and dining area. Margaritas were ok. Staff couldn't answer questions about anything English was her second language but even simple questions about spice level and if they use sweet and sour - she did not know the answers or appear to understand. I would go back for the food and ambiance. Really good. 4 out of 5 stars. -- We got there early on a Wednesday, just as the Lily and other local workers were getting out for lunch. I like the two different vibes in the dining area and bar. They have live music and shows on the weekends. We had: 1.Complimentary chips and salsa 2. Queso dip $5.99 - this is a thing you never find in California and while I don't care for it, my mom loves it. This queso was *very* watery and the most disappointing things of our meal but my mom still ate it . 3. Enchiladas Rancheras $12.99 - "Three corn enchilada tortillas, stuffed with marinated grilled chicken and covered with red ranchera salsa lettuce, radishes and mexican cheese and sour cream served with refried black beans." DELICIOUS. I never had radish and lettuce on my enchiladas and it was so good. All white meat chicken with a great marinade. Small but savory enchiladas. The black beans were the BEST I'VE EVER HAD hands down 4. Hard Shell Tacos with Ground Beef One for $2.19 - Mom loved it and said it was better than Taco Bell. She's a basic food B so that was a big compliment 5. Texas Margarita $12 - Their top shelf. The server wasn't able to answer my questions about the margaritas I don't like sweet and sour so I ordered the top shelf. I thought it was OK. There was sweet and sour in it and it wasn't strong at all, which was OK for it being 11:30 AM 6. Virgin Strawberry Margarita $9.99 for mom. She drank it all and loved it. Off the menu tomatillo hot sauce. Smokey in flavor. I thought it was OK. Did the trick at adding heat to notoriously non-spicy Hoosier food. Overall, I'd go back for the food and to try a different drink. ONE CAVEAT: Service was friendly, but, the server struggled to have answers or understand us and we were clear in our questions. I know English is her second language, but it did make for some challenges in understanding spice levels, ingredients, etc. She appeared to either not understand or to not know the answer. The reason I mention this is that if you are gluten free, vegetarian, or vegan you might have a hard time getting answers to things like if the refried black beans are cooked in lard I don't know or if they can modify something for GF. -- Overall, I'd say a generous 4 out of 5 stars for ambiance, friendliness, parking/location, and the entrees. I'll be back for sure for another go.
When you can't make it to Mr. Tequila's, let them come to you! Ordered these bad boys from UE tonight. El Pastor tacos, served with cilantro, onions and tomatillo sauce...SO GOOD. Go getchu some!
It was my first time going to Mr Tequila. I would have to say it was average. The service was very slow it took about 10 minutes for someone to come and take my order. After that it took about 30 minutes for my food to come. I don't mind waiting but if I have to the food should be worth it. Sadly it wasn't my rice and beans were cold. My steak tacos were bland but the tamale was very good. I probably won't return but it was an experience I won't forget.
