These people are wonderful. I have been taking my Great Dane Zeus to MSU a little over a year now and have met so many people there … all very caring, patient and thoroughly explain every step along the way. My boy had to stay over a weekend after surgery, and I was updated frequently the whole time, with pictures and progress on everything. They went above and beyond in making us as comfortable as possible on our journey.
We made an appointment with the neurologist Dr. Beasley for an MRI. She is really good and very kind. After the results she helped us to find a spot time in the orthopedic center for our dog in the very same day, to save us to come back just for an evaluation. She is still in contact with us due to the treatment/therapy that my dog will have there. Really good place and staff
A few weeks ago my puppy got sick and i took him at the vet school. They were so amazing to my baby and took such good care of him. When we got home the vet called for a few day just to make sure he was doing okay, she was just the sweetest! Definitely recommend!
I give 3 stars not for the care I received. Dr. Watkins was patient and very informative the rest of the staff was also wonderful. My biggest problem is the cost. Before they even do anything it is almost $150.00. This is a school not a regular vet practice. It is suppose to be learning experience not a money making experience.. I can understand a small fee but if we would of agreed with everything they were talking about it would of been in the thousands of dollars.
After a series of issues, my 2 year old cat, Simon, went into liver failure. Another local vet told me he was fine even though his skin was yellow and he hadn't eaten in days. The entire experience was a nightmare from beginning to end. The staff and vets gave me hope that he would get through it. From putting in his esophagostomy tube to answering calls in the middle of the night, they were with us every step of the way. Simon is 8 years old now, and I know that is only because of the care he received here. I will be forever grateful to the vets and students who gave him his life back.
Great stuff! I called ahead of time. Had a sick animal horse staff and vet waiting when I pulled in the parking lot highly recommended if you have a sick animal in that area
They are fantastic Doctors and staff, my Dog had a big tumor removal/surgery and they went beyond with the care and treatment of my dog. Outstanding and friendly staff and expert vets made the difference. Thank so much for my dog care.
Took our 9 year old Boxer in for seizures and dry heaving/gagging. Paid $483 for several tests. Was told he most likely had Cushing's disease, and that he would need additional tests. Was also told that his stomach was huge and full of something, but they couldn't tell what it was. They brushed that off, even though he was dry heaving and gagging right in front of them. We were there for 6 hours. We were sent home with several medications and told to follow up with our local vet in a few days. That was a Sunday evening. Monday evening, our poor boy collapsed, and died in my lap. We were told by another vet that it was most likely BLOAT based on the results of the xrays, and his symptoms. Our family is devastated. He shouldn't have died. If they would have investigated his stomach further, as I expressed concerns over several times and was dismissed, they would've known what it was early enough to save him. Shame on them. I will never take another animal there again, and I will tell everyone I know to be cautious about taking their animals there.
The worst hospital ever! There should be NO star. didn't imagine these kinds of doctor and student doctors actually exist. My dog was getting skinny and skinny even eating a whole rotisserie chicken. finally saw a stain of blood on his buttock and hearing a good thing from somebody and assumed several doctors can take care of him, so I went from TN. Dr Goins, the intern, said my dog is going to stay longer for his improvement and extended the hospitalization twice. Never let your dog stay long! Every time we talked over the phone, "He is doing well. Even Delana McCoy, student doctor gave me two times daily update saying he walked a little bit and ate a good portion of dinner, never mentioning of his getting worse. I still have his and HER MESSAGES on my voicemail. The lady picked me up at front for my visit on 5th day hospitalization, "you could have walked him if you came earlier." Three students were on him when i saw him, not treating him gently but dealing with the object, my observation. He crawled; I thought because of some surgery? legs were totally both paralyzed with a lot of sores which we found later. First, he looked gained weight. He was actually full of liquid injected. When he died, he ribs were poking through his skin. He tried to get out "desperately", I assumed he got stronger. He cried non-stop during my visit. I thought he is happy seeing me, it was lack of my discernment I just wanted him to get better. All his students and Dr. Goins surrounded my dog and me when I was about to leave. Uncomfortable and strange. Delana mentioned when we picked him up, they gave him a very strong drug, which my husband recognized, is a hallucinating drug with withdraw, and said he became very addictive. Basically, he didn't have a chance of sleep at all, rest and eating from constant pains which Dr Goins mentioned about a little. He didn't show any sign of pain at home before his visit, just sleeping all day. On the way home he cried a lot and slept a little. It must've been the drug was waking up him. His hospitalization seems accelerated to his death on Sat early morning after a seizure, which was not supposed to happen to him. Our conclusion he came back like a lubber beach wale. They experimented on him; he was also blind. Taken an advantage of his situation and because we are so far away from him. Dr Goins was suggesting we were going to pick him up on Sat. Basically, they wanted to keep doing experiments on him until his death, but his body couldn't tolerate any more so released him just before his death at school, so no bad image on the school which is my understanding. Not just Dr. Goins' whole lies, I say the whole staff staged the show, including Faculty Dr. Patty Lathan because Dr. Goins had been for just 4weeks experienced at the school prier to that he was dipping sheep in the chemical solution for mites. Did Dr Patty Lathan let this unexperienced vet in full charge of our case, just the ignorance of supervising duty on a new vet or wasn't she aware of what is going on? We trusted and highly respected Dr. Goins and Delana McCoy more than my dog's desperate appeal until his death. Visited the clinic on Sat evening and picked him up on Friday evening and he died around 3 AM on Sat: 7days of torture for $7,000.00. Be aware this is a school for students, not for pets. Looks like they rip us off individually differently. This proves Can not trust vets.
