Mount Moriah Cemetery South has been serving the Kansas City community since 1922. While it is now nonsectarian, the facility originally was founded to serve Freemasons and their families. Mount Moriah opened for interments on June 1, 1923. Located in a beautiful woodland setting, we're equipped to care for every detail, regardless of cemetery location or religious preference. Understanding and helpful service to all are paramount here. Our entire staff is dedicated to supporting our families and maintaining the beauty of our lovely grounds.
Mount Moriah offers a complete range of burial options, including traditional ground burial, lawn crypts, indoor and outdoor mausoleums and a cremation garden. We also offer family estates and private individual mausoleums. Mount Moriah is a “'memorial park”-type cemetery where most of the memorials are flat surface markers. Upright monuments are found only in the family estates and as features in some of the gardens. As you wind through our five miles of paved roads you will notice many different species of trees that are particularly beautiful in spring and fall
Elegance is evident in the quiet charm of our funeral home. This elegance is enhanced by formal chandeliers imported from Holland and Spain. These chandeliers are graced with hand-polished crystals imported from Czechoslovakia.
