Mt. San Jacinto Peak-a giant, often snow capped crag marked by great up thrusts of weathered granite rises at 10,834 feet or 3,302 meters.
When you enter Mount San Jacinto State Park, you come into the heart of the wilderness, high in the San Jacinto Mountains. This 14,000-acre park can be reached via Highway 243 from Idyllwild or by tram from Palm Springs Aerial Tramway. Granite peaks, sub-alpine forests and mountain meadows offer the best opportunity to enjoy a primitive high-country experience south of the Sierra Nevada range.

Vehicle Camping in Idyllwild SP is $25.00 and Stone Creek is $20.00 per night. (Stone Creek campground is typically closed from Dec 1 to May 1.)
