Inside the Mugger Slugger™ canister is a substance called Pepper Gas or Pepper Spray. However, please note that there is a difference in Pepper Sprays available to the public. The hotter the pepper used, the more effective it is. Most pepper sprays sold today, in our opinion, do not use pepper hot enough to depend on to save your life in a life-threatening situation. The Mugger Slugger™ does contain pepper hot enough to do the job.
The heat of peppers is measured in Scoville Heat Units. A Bell Pepper, of example, has a Scoville Heat Unit measurement of zero. Jalapeno pepper is 2500 Scoville Heat Units — hot to eat but not hot enough to save your life. Most other pepper spray products use Cayenne or Red Pepper at 30,000 heat units. We still don't believe that's hot enough. The pepper we use in the Mugger Slugger™ is 10 times hotter than Red Pepper, in fact it is the hottest pepper in the world — Habanero Pepper. Habanero Pepper is measured at 300,000 heat units and we concentrate it in the MuggerSlugger™ to over 2 million heat units, making it the hottest and most effective pepper spray available today.
The Mugger Slugger™ will spray up to 8 feet in a cone shaped jet blast. The effects are instant and dramatic. The attacker's eyes will lock shut, and their face will feel like it is on fire and their sinuses will drain completely to the floor, they will cough, sneeze and fall to their knees and be instantly incapacitated for 30 to 45 minutes. This will give you time to get away and call the police and will give the police time to arrive to take another criminal off the street. (Note: The attacker will recover with no permanent damage.) If the attacker should somehow get away before the police arrive, they are stained with the orange coloring of the Habanero Pepper that will mark the attacker for up to 48 hours for police suspect identification.
