Staffing has gone down hill… my kids loved going here last year for summer camp but this year was horrible. They take fun activities away from children for being children. My son had his field trip taking away because he spoke to loud in the library. When asked about this they responded well he didn’t behave the last couple days. Okay so why were the parents not notified? They couldn’t give an answer. Second time was when they told me that my son had misbehaved and was written up for the first time and said that they would suspend him. These are children?? No child is perfect. Suspension off one warning really? The final straw was when they instigated and tried to cause parents to fight. We pulled our kids out. No parent should feel uncomfortable due to the staff causing issues with parents at pick up. I warn parents to be careful when signing them up they don’t return your money with out something in writing 6days in advance as well. “We weren’t the only parents unhappy with staff.”
Not a bad place at all Staff are decent - I’ve gotten to know them . Price is way better than ANY other childcare around They do lots of stuff with the kids so I don’t know why there’s even other reviews saying they don’t The facility is nice and seems clean from what I can see they also have a really nice outdoor field to take the kids to. My son is no angel either so I’m grateful they are happy to have him there
Summer Camp Review This review is only specific to their summer camp based on my experience over the past few weeks. We registered our child for summer camp several weeks ago, never received any email or phone correspondence to confirm the camp, or get information about drop-off, etc. Day before camp starts my wife calls and asks to confirm that we are in fact dropping our child off the next day. Gal on the phone says "Yeah, just come on by". Very unprofessional process. The other camps we've enrolled in this summer send us an email with detailed information like what to pack for lunch, sunblock, drop-off routines, etc. Some of them even call to see if we have any questions. We didn't hear a word from BGC. The actual drop-off on first day of summer vacation was completely disorganized. Walked in the door, several parents were talking with counselors about issues with their registration, no signage telling you how to drop your child off, sign them in, etc. After signing name in little book , I personally walked my 7 year old through the building to give her a tour. I had never been there before, so I just walked through random doors guessing. Nobody greeted her, welcomed her to camp. There was nobody monitoring if a random adult just walked through the space. Lots of kids, all running around and doing whatever they wanted. I don't necessarily have an issue with that if it's monitored and intentional like a free time, but this was Lord of the Flies chaos. Eventually left my child in the gym, completely by herself with a basketball. "Good luck honey" and I felt nervous all day, just hoping that someone would actually talk to her and she wouldn't just sit in a corner by herself. At the end of the day I walked straight in to sign her out, nobody spoke to me. I walked through the building to find my daughter and got her and we left. No security, anybody could have waltzed in. In 2019 this is NOT best practice for a child care facility. My daughter had a fantastic time at camp. She loved it and thanked me for signing her up. But from a parent's perspective, this place is highly disorganized and dysfunctional--shocking actually. I'll update this review if their processes improve over time.
Great place for kids
Director was really nice but my daughter complained about the staff all the time and she hated going so I pulled her out. Wish they would do more with the kids in the after school program
Its a really nice gym
