Dr Pearl is one of the best surgeons. Munson scored the JACKPOT with her. Not only is she passionate about her work she is treats you like a life long friend. She cares about safety and the success of her patients pre and post-op. He bedside manner is impeccable and her skills are outstanding. Her office staff is amazing to and always so very helpful.
I can't say enough good about this practice. My back surgery experience far exceeded my expectations. My sciatica pain has disappeared and the post surgery pain is tolerable and manageable. Thank you so much Dr. Schermerhorn and your entire staff for the wonderful job you did.
Dr Pearl is the best! She is completely thorough. I was diagnosed with 3 brain tumors and it was scary. She not only was positive and caring but she had a care team on it stat. Also a second opinion with UofM to completely agree with everything she had already recommended. Although my large tumor is inoperable, she has made me feel at ease with my team ready to act if it grows. I am being evaluated with an MRI every 6 months and seeing my team of doctors regularly. I have radiation set up if I need it. I have been able to give it to God. She has reassured me and with Faith, I am able to enjoy life until the day comes I may need more. If you want an amazing, honest, hard working and caring Neurosurgeon, I personally recommend Dr Pearl at Munson. Thank you for reading this.
Dr Schemerhorn performed an 8 hour surgery to remove a tumor on my spine. I was close to losing my ability to walk. He is amazing. I walk normally now. Not only an amazing surgeon, equally amazing bedside manner. Can’t say enough about this special surgeon. Thank you Doctor!
Well considering after weeks of calls and referrals from my doc while I have a fractured C2 and not 1 phone call back from this place….. a hard NO
When I was diagnosed with a brain tumor, it was the scariest time in my life. I lost everything, leading up to that: I was bankrupted by the diagnostic process and had to leave my home downstate to move in with my parents just to stay alive. I lost my friends in the move. My fiance left me. I was scared and sad. Dr. Pearl's initial consultation with me was a warm greeting, and I knew right away that I was going to receive care from a medical professional who wanted the best for me. I was relieved, but still afraid. The surgery she said I'd need was extensive. It terrified me. But Dr. Pearl assured me that I was in good hands, and she'd do everything in her power to ensure I received above average care. Previous to her, I'd gone through a handful of doctors who made me feel insignificant, and I'd lost faith in medicine and its practitioners overall. Dr. Pearl remedied this cynicism with her atypically warm and personable bedside manner and the thorough nature of her work. Indeed, mere hours before my surgery, she called me with a new perspective, intent on doing more tests to confirm an unlikely theory regarding my tumor before proceeding with the invasive surgery that was planned. As it turns out, my tumor was of a rare kind that required only a minimalistic approach, and, after a careful and ultimately successful biopsy confirmed this speculation, I was able to be treated using only radiation, and am now cancer free. I've never felt more gratitude for a professional person who rendered a service for me. I feel I quite literally owe Dr. Pearl my life. I think that any other brain surgeon may have just performed the surgery on me and collected a check, but Dr. Pearl took care to exhaust every possibility before putting me under her knife, and for that I'll always be grateful.
Dr Pearl is amazing doctor, she is very patient, understanding, caring, and personalble. She takes her time to make sure you understand what needs to be done. I started with pain scale Over 9 and 2 weeks out of surgery i have no pain at all. She even took the time to fix the scar through my Tattoo to make it look right. I will always go back to her if any other problems come up. She is one of the best surgeons I have had.
I HAVE BEEN CANCELED 3 TIMES. THIS LAST TIME NO PHONE CALL OR EMAIL LIKE FIRST 2 TIMES. WAY UNPROFESSIONAL!!
Cannot say enough excellent things about Dr. Justine Pearl. Justine's bed side manor and general empathy to the family is a rare find these days. Justine, thank you for listening, understanding, and fixing my mother. There are not too many heart felt surgeons like you around, hold on to that!
I was referred to Dr. Justine Pearl after a diagnosis of Chiari malformation. I had to call my own doctor to get the name of the office as apparently the very job of scheduling appointments and calling patients is too hard. It's literally the office job, and they couldn't do that. Dr. Pearl's review of my MRI consisted of showing me a picture of it on her cell phone. My question on if the pitiitaury was affected was met with "I will look." and my question on measurements of posterior fossa were redirected and unanswered. Dr. Pearl ordered more MRIs to look for cause of herniation. These were normal. Her decision to not do surgery was a brusque and uninterested bedside visit in hospital where I was for severe headache. Dr. Pearl has since referred me to a neurologist to "give me drugs." I have asked for further testing, an upright MRI among them. The answer from this office was to tell me that upright MRIs do not exist, and because the previous spinal MRIs were normal no further testing is necessary. Two stars only because this woman is undoubtedly a qualified surgeon, but she is a lazy surgeon who is not interested in a diagnosis. She wants a known entity, and doesn't want to do deal with anything she might have to work to diagnose. Neurosurgeons do more than surgery. Their job is more than cutting and stitching back up. Because of this woman, I have continued to live in debilitating pain, with a limited quality of life. What kind doctor says, "Well, we don't know why your brain is herniating, but these tests were normal so we're not going to do anymore testing and your other problems aren't related to your brain herniation so go see someone else so we can drug you up."?????
