This is a camp site with a hot springs. The bad reviews I’ve read seem to complain because they didn’t realize what it was. It’s family owned and ran. If you’ve ever camped before, add a hot spring and hippie feel—that’s what you’re getting here. They have hippie buses, RV/van sites, the cabin and tent sites. We stayed in the grow cabin which is so darn cute and has a homey feel. We brought firewood and roasted sausages and s’mores in the evening after our soak time. There’s a nice little community area with an outdoor kitchen and some helpful freebies. Pictured. The bath house is right behind the community area and there’s even an outdoor shower area which I’ve only seen rarely at places. Everything was clean, well kept and well used. I don’t mind the older stuff if it’s clean and it adds to the inviting homey feel. They were kind enough to leave us 4 towels in the cabin which was great bc we forgot towels. We didn’t ask—they come with the rental. each bed also had a heated blanket which was plugged in and ready to go. I use one at home and enjoyed this very much. The orange around the tubs and everywhere in the springs is from the mineral water but I saw complaints on that too. Will recommend and stay again. Had a great stay!
It’s a privately owned hot spring not a resort spa. There are two levels. The upper level has 6 tubs of various temps with amazing views while the lower level has a very hot my favorite large hot tub size pool and another warm pool. With all the various spots offering a temperature for everyone. We’ve always lucked out with few to no one there. The checkin process is great! Just call the number and get the ok to go on in. I personally love the solitude of the experience. It’s become our pit stop on our way home after any long trip.
What an incredible stay!!! My wife and I stayed in the "New Moon" hippie bus! From the outside we had no idea what was in store. But once we opened the doors... OMG... this was AWESOME. Super comfortable queen bed with a heated mattress it was cold out!. Nice sitting area with a kitchen table and "sofas." Lots of very nice people staying there. The hot springs were nice. I like the fact that we had to reserve time to soak so it does not get too crowded! Please wear something sturdier than flip flops when you go soak as there is some uphill hiking. My flip flops did not cut it so I had to go barefoot ouch!. There is a common area near the busses and campsites to hang out, do dishes, heat food, and more. Absolutely awesome experience. We will be back!
The bus we stayed in was very clean. You can tell that they are trying to provide a nice experience for us. The hot springs were great, as expected. The one thing that I think you should be aware of before renting a bus is that there are a lot of not-quite-feral cats that, if you leave your bus and fail to close the door, the cats will get in and eat any food that might be laying out. Also, if you have an allergy to cats, re-think it.
This was definitely a unique experience. The soak should be included in your stay. The springs were all cold except for one and that one was barely Luke warm. This made it feel very overpriced for the season we came in. The grounds could use some upgrades and then it would be a pretty awesome communal spot. I am updating my review to 5 stars due to the prompt response by the owner who fully refunded our stay due unexpected weather effecting the temperature of the springs. For this alone, I recommend giving this place a go!
This place is AMAZING!!!! Such a great experience. Would definitely go back!!! The staff was great, the place was clean, very straightforward instructions.
Long story short, I would give the water five stars, great hot temperature and not sulfurous like some other hot springs. Would be nice to have a couple ledges to sit on in the deeper pool, but no biggie. Some other folks have called the aesthetic a hippie experience, rough around the edges or whatever. There seems to be zero customer service, just show up and do your thing and don’t expect someone at a desk if you have a question or issue. I love the dirtbag lifestyle, been my modus operandi for years, but for the price point and the two hour soak limit I think it’s garbage rates. There was rain during our stay and the roads in campsite area were a mud pit and the walk up to the springs too. 2wd vehicle could have pretty easily gotten stuck. Put some gravel down it’s an easy fix. I see what they are going for, and it’s got potential but of all the hot springs from here to Montana I was pretty unimpressed. If it was cheaper than that would be a different story, but I’m not altogether convinced you get what you pay for. Good luck moving forward.
Overall good one of a kind experience. Stayed one night in the New Moon Bus and had a sunset soak time slot. I probably would not stay in a bus again due to the summer heat, flies, and bathroom situation. But for one night it was fine experience. Shower is an open room and two toilets behind fabric curtains. Had a slight miscommunication with owner that came off kind of awkward / rude. But you never know how someone's day is going I guess. Mystic says they are not a fancy resort, and we knew that going into our stay. Glad we did it a night. The hot springs were great and the other folks in our time slot became our friends and we all tried out the different tubs. It felt like summer camp.
LOVE the Mystic Hot Springs! Great location, amazing staff, clean shared areas, the pools were incredible. I’ve never used the campground before, but it looked nice. Staying in one of the cabins was phenomenal. The greenhouse is a must see. The calmness and mental recharge you get from soaking in the tubs, staring at the amazing views, especially at dawn or dusk, is indescribable. Definitely a must do.
Also known as Mystic Hot Springs. Great hippie camping and fabulous hot springs. We rented a bus called New Moon. There is a kids playground, tent camping and restroom and showers. You must be self-contained and leave no trace behind. Quiet time is 9pm-9am.
