Stayed in one of the cabins a couple of years ago. It definitely wasn’t swept out before we came. There was a dead crab under the bed which caused bugs to swarm around the bunk bed so we all 3 slept on one bed. We did see some cool lizards and snakes nearby if you’re into that kind of thing. It’s a pretty short drive to Marco Island which has the most beautiful sunset over the ocean
Stayed in a mini cabin towards the back. The pros: Grounds are well kept, nice size clean pool, front bathrooms by office are clean and have hot water and great pressure, all workers we had interactions with where amazing, fire pits are nice size and also have park style grills to cook on. Cons: Back bathrooms/showers by mini cabins are miserably hot shows a thermastat set to 82 but I never seen or felt cool air and smelt like mold inside them, in need of bug control inside of the bathrooms. I would return but rent a regular size cabin the next time. Definitely bring bug spray because you are near water lots of bugs. If you have a pet watch out for the cane toads.
Paying full price for a campground that is under construction. No picnic tables and no camp store. No ventilation and no a/c in bathhouses, in Florida! They are horrible! It would have been nice if we had been given a heads up about the store and picnic table. We could have brought a table so that we could comfortably enjoy meals outside. Wait til construction is complete before staying here.
We’ve been to this KOA last year in July and we honestly had the worst time with the bugs. I was very skeptical of giving them a second chance but I am so glad we did! Maybe it was the change in season September but this time around it was an amazing stay! The bugs weren’t as bad, Gino was so helpful, and the facilities were spotless! Thanks again Naples KOA! We’ll be back soon!
I am hoping to change this rating in the future. As of now, I am sorely disappointed in the communication this koa has had with its customers since the hurricane. I think most people sympathize with them and wish them well in the cleanup and repair, as do I. But directing all questions about reopening to the Facebook page and then not updating it since October is poor communication. It is now December and we have no way of knowing if our reservation for January will be honored.
We enjoyed our stay here. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. We look forward to going back once the rebuild is complete.
We stayed at the Naples/Marco Island KOA for 31 days and I have no complaints; the sites are small but the staff works very hard at keeping the park immaculate. Our grassy area was mowed and maintained every week, our garbage was picked up twice a day, the pool was always clear and kept very clean. The park itself was quiet and we met a lot of great people during our stay. I can't speak highly enough of each and every member of the staff at this park...they were unfailingly courteous, cheerful, and completely responsive to our every need. I was walking the dog one early morning and had the pleasure of getting to see a family of River Otters ambling through the park, which was totally amazing to watch. One caution....bring your bug spray and don't plan to be outside after the sun goes down: you will be eaten alive. This has more to do with the location than anything else- you're surrounded by water and have access to a private boat ramp, which is super convenient. The facilities are always very clean and they have a nice little KOA store where you can score some great souvenirs, although only very basic food items. We loved it here and will definitely visit again! Edit to this review: I have learned since posting that this KOA does not spray for bugs due to their extremely close proximity to the Rookery Bay Conservatory. This makes perfect sense to me and explains the bugs
Great place to stay. All the campers were friendly! The staff are very dedicated and every thing is super clean and taken care of, even though it is an older establishment. Definitely meets KOA standards. We had an awesome patio set up right across from the pool. I didn't use the showers but the bathrooms and showers were very clean.
Fantastic liitle gem in Naples Florida. A campground that has been here for 45 years that has been completely renovated. It's not a large space but is very nice. The front staff is friendly and enthusiastic. A nice number of cabins to rent and RV spaces. Has a fishing launch as well. A new favorite spot in South Western Florida. Very close to local shopping and some great bars/restaurants.
this could have been a 5 star rating, it has all the accommodations you could think of.. nice staff, well thought out amenities, dog park, fire pits and grills at each site, pool, jacuzzi, even a Sauna, shuffle board, horse shoes, fish cleaning station... and more. here is where the problem starts... we arrive after hours, follow instructions, all is well, until one of us is locked in the bathroom... funny but the door knob was missing... freed the person and head to bed... off we go to enjoy the sites! when we returned it was a rude awaking... no hot water, nothing we could do to figure it out and again after hours. some of us braved the icy bath. this was their handicap cabin btw... off to bed. next morning a call was places for help to get hot water, only to find out that there was already a work order for this problem but they have public showers... we have a wheelchair bound teen that is shy! the question I have... WHY? Why would they rent out the cabin without hot water? knowing it was not easy with a wheelchair to walk to a public show and need help with the showering process! why didn't the inform us from the moment we confirmed and received instructions on late arrival.? why not let us see if we could make it work or not? let us have that choice! don't get me wrong, it is a beautiful place and very clean... so if you think it's not worth it the visit you would be wrong... just confirm the lovely cabins are fully functioning first! Playground: too cute for words...
