When we pulled into the lot we were undecided rather we wanted to try this restaurant or not and when we sat and tried to order beverages were became even more unsure.. I do not drink any form of "alcohol", "Coca~Cola" or "Pepsi" and do not understand why restaurants that sell all those mentioned items draw the line at serving "sweet tea". Mostly in the south Due to time issues and the fact they proudly displayed a "FOLDS OF HONOR" decal on the front door we decided to stay and give the food a chance and we are glad we did. The galic knots with dipping sauce were GREAT. Actually they were so good that my anti-bread with meals wife ate four of them. We then ordered our salads my wife chosing a "House" salad and myself chosing a "Ceasar". Both salads arrived and they were not only fresh but they were huge. We followed up with my wife ordering Spaghetti with Meatballs and Myself ordering the House Lasagna. Both entrees arrived and they were large and both were very good. The only reasons i gave this restaurant a mere 3 starscame down to the lack of sweet tea which to me in the south is a big issue. And the other issue was our waitress/server. She had no knowledge of the menu, no pep in her step and no smile and no idea rather Veterans received discounts or not on their check.
We held a private memorial at Napolitano's and they did a fantastic job. The staff was very friendly and helpful, and the food was delicious.
Loved the minestrone, very traditional with a black pepper and oregano flavor. I had the sausage and peppers, that was so much food it could have fed a family of four. Unfortunately I was alone and had to send a lot of it back on the plate. Service was excellent.... I'll definitely return. 2nd Seating Ordered the spaghetti and meatballs, a litmus test for any Italian restaurant, and it didn't disappoint. Pasta was thinner than most but perfectly al dente. Also served with the proper amount of sauce and large shavings of parmesan.... Loved it.
I sadly must go against the opinions of my friends, as I was not impressed with Napolatanos after my second or third visit. The prices weren't what I consider a good value considering the calzone was undercooked raw dough and skimpy on the toppings. Sadly, the bartender didn't know how to make a drink, got it very wrong, and charged double what it'd cost at a more reputable alcohol venue. The air conditioning apparently doesn't work well, so you'll either have fans on high cooling your food, or a stuffy room to eat in.
I used to come here a lot as a kid and decided to bring the family. So the interior is huge and open, with two dining rooms. One of the rooms has a bar, and as we walked in we could hear it's raucous crowd laughing and carrying on. No problem, the hostess took us to the other dining room. That room was huge, full of long tables, and completely empty. It was like being in an empty warehouse. The server was exceptionally nice and was good with the kids. Menu seemed to be a hacked down version that was once much more extensive. The food took a normal amount of time. My wife's alfredo was a heaping bowl. The large calzone was a whopper. The pizza was cheesy and good. The peanut butter pie for dessert was also delectable. The only thing that knocks a star off this place were the prices. Wow. Chicken alfredo with a side salad came out to $22. Drinks over three bucks a pop. The menu is clearly marked, it's not like I was being scammed, but those prices made my wallet groan. Probably better as a date night spot than a family spot. The people at the bar in the other room certainly seemed to be having fun.
This was our favorite, somewhat upscale place a few years ago. Sadly, it seems to have gone downhill since. The portions are somewhat smaller, the previously complimentary house salads are now 2.99. My entree, the antipasto salad, was mostly sliced salami and prosciutto over a thick bed of iceberg lettuce. My spouse was pleased with her fried shrimp, but the french fries were overdone. The service needs some work as well. The waitress was not identifiable as such when she approached our table because she was dressed as a college football fan. She was pushy when it came to us ordering and kept asking if the food was okay and disappeared when we were in need of refills. I hope this place improves. I'm willing to give it another go, maybe sometime next year.
No longer open to the public for restaurant dining, not for take out or delivery, since early 2019. Catering and special events only. That's a shame, because they were a good, not superb but strongly good, classic American Italian eatery. Really well done for that classic type, very tasty dishes with generous portions. Enjoyed their delivery several times but sadly never had the chance to dine in, but often read great things about them.
First time here last Saturday! It was busy but great! We sat at the bar and the bartender was awesome! She never stopped moving-really busy but, we never had to wait for a drink and when we told her it was our first time she took the time to tell us about happy hour, daily specials, bands, etc. The pizza was the best we’ve had in Gainesville! We will definitely be back
Great experience! As Hurricane Michael Evacuees with a large dog, we were happy to find a place with friendly, professional staff, great food, and a pleasant outdoor patio where the Labrador was welcomed while we awaited news of how our house fared in the storm. Though lacking an appetite, I thoroughly enjoyed my scallops and salad while my husband said his burger was one of the best he'd ever had. The manager and our waiter shared our relief when we heard during dinner that we had relatively minor damage from the monster hurricane. We felt as if family shared our news.
We love this Place. We come here every Tuesday night for half price apps. Everything else is delicious. Our favorite waitress is Kira. We only accept her as our server! Wonderful personality and a real sweetheart!!
