The National Alliance for Doctoral Studies in the Mathematical Sciences is an alliance between a group of proven mentors in math sciences departments at several Ph.D. and master’s granting universities together with mentors at math science departments at colleges and universities which serve a substantial number of underrepresented undergraduate students. These mentors work together closely to ensure that any underrepresented student who wishes to pursue a doctoral degree in the math sciences is given the tools, nurturing, and encouragement needed to ensure that he or she will be prepared for a Ph.D. program in an Alliance graduate department.
The National Alliance is supported by a grant from the National Science Foundation* as well as from contributions from participating university colleges and departments and from several organizations and private institutions.
Through this generous support we are able to offer the following opportunities:
-Alliance Activity Scholarships
-Alliance Summer Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU)
-Annual Fall Alliance Conference
