I don't watch sports like I used to and even when I did, I watched football and basketball more than baseball. Moreover, I grew up outside the US and so didn't grow up with the baseball culture. But even as a relative novice, I thoroughly enjoyed my visit. The museum does a great job presenting the history, and showcasing all the significant players and events. I came away with a much better understanding of the game, being able to place names and people in the overall timeline and a fuller appreciation for all the accomplishments. Well worth the drive from NYC.
I am not a huge baseball but I do enjoy the game overall. The museum has some great displays covering all teams and the history of baseball. The town of Cooperstown is a cute quaint town that is worth spending some time in. Overall I was happy with my visit.Visited onWeekendWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedYesPrice for adult entry$21–30
An incredible place of American history, way more than just a history of baseball. It turned out that my experience was about the memory of my father, my husband, and all the summer night moments of watching the game on TV.... I think this is probably not unique to me. What looks small from outside is actually a pretty big museum. I needed good 3 hours or more, to fully appreciate this place. I'm not a super crazy baseball fan, but it meant so much to me to visit this place, to my surprise. Absolutely a must go place. It was so wonderful to get in touch with our past, particularly after COVID, to remind myself those American heros who have been sustaining our culture throughout the history.
A must go to if you love baseball. The museum will take you a min of 2.5 hrs, there are 3 floors you start at the top and work your way down. There is an elevator. Museum goes over every aspect of baseball from the beginning of it all. There is also a section for the female baseball players. The town is surrounded by apple orchards and makes for a beautiful drive.
If you are a baseball fan or you are not a baseball fan this museum Is pretty cool. The stories the artifacts are a great capture. Takes you back to when the game was invented and through the lives of the great players through the years. Our boys loved it! What a great experience! Must go if you are in coopstownVisited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedYesPrice for adult entry$16–20
Cooperstown & The Baseball Hall of Fame is a MUST SEE!! As I described it to my Bestie who Loves the gameI'm not a particular huge fan "For someone who doesn't like the sport Its pretty incredible to learn our history through the progression of one sport. It's Wild!!" If you're nearby, PLEASE don't let this one slip through the travel cracks!! SO GOOD!!
The holy ground for baseball players and fans. A beautiful museum that shows the history of American baseball. Lots to see and guides are very knowledgeable. A must visit. There is limited parking at the museum so ride the trolley that is less than a mile from town. We rode the yellow trolley that picks up riders at 5838 NY-80, Cooperstown, NY or you can ride the red trolley at its parking lot on Rte 28. Check the website. Parking and trolley ride are free.
Had an awesome experience. They have a discount for veterans and free for active duty and military. Plenty of staff around to ask directions or questions from. Lots of exhibits and brings internet and excitement for all ages no matter what years you have been actively watching the game. Just loved the place.
The Hall of Fame is the keystone that completes an awesome little town. Even those that don't like baseball will enjoy the HOF. We have been there many times and the changing displays and movie updates make each visit unique. This was the first time visiting in the winter and the lack of crowds and quietness was a whole new aspect.Visited onWeekendWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNoPrice for adult entry$21–30
What can I say? It's still America's pastime, and this is the greatest tribute to the game. I cannot possibly recommend this enough. A true bucket list experience. And don't sell yourself short and not experience the town, the shops, the eateries. A great visit!
